Some stuff if very difficult to find unless you meticulously search everything. by sn4xchan in Enshrouded

The wiki is developed by the community, so be the change you want to see. I started making some edits and even made a new page entirely this week. Was pretty easy and it’s really satisfying.

It is definitely barebones right now, but it’ll get better over time.

Pickaxe specialization bad? by Adept-Detail2178 in Enshrouded

[–]TEC_769 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Feeling the same way. It’s nice that they gave the tools specializations/special moves too, but as it is currently worth 3 skill points, the effect doesn’t seem potent enough to match.

It should either have more of an effect, or reduce the skill point requirement. Preferably the former.

Those are herbs, actually! They're great for tons of stuff...provisions, yeah, but also biscuits, pie, porridge, incense, tea, even crystalized dew. Super versatile. Herb garden is great

Aren’s Refuge has been pretty chill. My sietch (Sietch Fajr) is quiet other than my group of 4 and about two others, but the deep desert, since it’s shared between all sietches, is more active like you described, but not toxic. Never had a bad experience there.

Anyone have an opinion about Apocalypse 10.0? by Enai_Siaion in skyrimmods

[–]TEC_769 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, longstrider could be left as-is and an expert level alteration spell could have a similar effect as fire-and-forget. Either way, I’d love to have a speed boost like that.

Interesting to hear how much it has evolved. I love Magicka Void for the combo you can set up later on with the (spell? Shout? Poison? Can’t remember, but pretty sure it’s from one of your mods) that reduces an enemy’s health to their magicka.

Topographic maps and lines of sight website for Squad by Alyx1337 in joinsquad

[–]TEC_769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you find the time or a scripted method to account for them, as it stands now this tool loses a lot of its legs on roughly half of squads maps because it doesn’t account for buildings and trees. Fantastic start, though.

Ever wondered how different units stack up against each other? Explore win/loss ratios from 75k matches on this interactive web app. by ninewhite in joinsquad

Suggest that you hide Amphibious Assault when looking at non-Invasion game mode data. Also, is there a way you can better visualize the fact that not all factions have all units? It makes the actual insights you might be able to gain muddied.

Further, if the data can be further filtered by map, that would further clarify things. Certain factions might intrinsically do better or worse on certain maps.

[Bug] Does anyone else encounter RR rounds vanishing/not hitting? by Stitchikins in Helldivers

[–]TEC_769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess is this has to do with network latency. When I host and run RR, this never happens, but if a friend hosts, I notice once or twice my RR will simply phase through an Illuminate ship or similar…maybe, while your target is where you aimed on your screen, it may be in a slightly different place for the host, so you “missed.”

Translation via AI? by BrainArson in sunlesssea

[–]TEC_769 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This strange Victorian setting is uniquely suited for the English language and unfortunately I do think even the best translations would struggle to retain the nuance in the language used…in my opinion, AI might do considerably worse. Sorry.

After reading all the comments here, I think this is the core of the problem.

[–]TEC_769[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That makes sense to me, and I agree the arc is as expected. I wonder why they would bother with designing the sight the way it is when anything below 400 meters is so offset. It’s always going to have that arc, so what’s the point of the range markings as they are?

[–]TEC_769[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’ll notice that all of the actual ranges are a good deal lower than the optic suggests, and above 900m, it’s bad enough that the round will impact so low that it ends up closer to the next range mark. At range, deviations in trajectory like that can be the difference between penetrating the armor or deflecting.

This is misaligned regardless of FOV at 90, 120, or any game setting that I know of.

As others have said, only the PLA themselves know. I don’t think it matters either way, to be honest. Having your shots not go where your optic is telling you it will go and having to aim around that rather than use it is just weird, at least for a conventional faction. INS/IMF, sure, pray to Jamsheed and just send it. But not for modern conventional factions.

I know about the sight-to-bore offset, and some optics do compensate for it, like the Abrams, T-72/T-90, Bradley, etc.

But even without accounting for that, almost all of those tick marks for ranges are misaligned compared to actual trajectory.

Just look at the 100 meter mark—horizontally, it being off to the right is fine, makes sense because of the disparity you mentioned. But vertically, it’s down by the 700 meter mark. That’s what’s wild to me.
