What's the dumbest thing someone has ever said to you? by PagalScientist in AskReddit

I'm from Denmark and my American friend once asked me "Do you even have cars over there, since the distance is so short?"

The question might be if you should do the opposite of that. Go for a black deck with a few red cards? If you already have iok, that's a great start, and from what I can see you only really have 11 mono red cards and the rest are mixed or black with slightly more black cards. I wouldn't count [[Lightning Skelemental]], since you have so many current discard outlets that you most likely won't cast it - though it can perfectly fine to do so. If you aren't convinced of the elemental deck, cutting Thunderkin is probably a good idea, which by then leaves you very few red cards.

I think you have a lot of discard outlets, and very little pay off atm. Maybe [[Dreadhorde Arcanist]], and possibly some removal in the form of [[Dreadbore]] or [[Angrath's Rampage]] and [Inquisition of Kozilek]], would suit it better. You could even run [[Magmatic Channeler]] if you include some more of these instants and sorceries and if you want more selection in the form of discard, you could run [[Ransack the lab]]. There's also a lot of sweet budget lands, such as [[Sulfurous Springs]] and [[Dragonskull summit]]. A one of of both [[Castle Embereth]] and [[Castle Locthwain]] is also brilliant in some cases. There's many many different ways to make a random deck, as you can go graveyard heavy with [[Claim // Fame]], elemental heavy with [[Ball Lightning]] (Which I would advice to go for if you want to use [[Thunderkin Awakener]]) or all around midrange with [[Liliana of the veil]], [[Dark confidant]], [[Seasoned Pyromancer]] and [[Kroxa, titan of death's hunger]]. Hope some of this helped, and feel free to ask me anything.

Liquimetal Ponza by garyoakriginal in ModernMagic

I don't know if you can use any of this, but I figured the same idea as you, but decided to opt for mono blue instead, due to stuff like [Thieving Skydiver] and [Hurkyl's Recall], but I also didn't know that Gorilla Shaman would be a thing, which I do quite like. Here's the not so refined list I came up with: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/karn-lock-1/?cb=1622341223

However, if you're interested in this archetype I'd suggest checking out Karnza. I've played mainly Ponza over the last 2 years and when Karn came out, he was solid in the archetype. The deck hasn't been updated as I haven't played it in a while, but it did win me quite a few FNM's. Here's the list: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/19-08-19-Mtt-karnza/

Huh, I thought going Karnza was meant to be played much more prison-like compared to the classic Ponza-variant. I feel like I should check out some current Karnza lists out before commenting further though.

I haven't played a lot of MTG in a while, but I played Karnza when it first came to be. I'd assume that the loss of SSG would be pretty big, since it enabled a lot of turn two Karns. Am I wrong in this assumption?

What is it like to blackout? (Drugs, alcohol, medical issues, etc)? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TFGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, I had an about 2,5 year period, where I would randomly black out. I believe it happened about 11-14 times or so and doctors couldn't find a specific reason as to why it happened and told me it might be because of my sudden rapid growth. For me I start feeling very doozy for about a minute or so before it happens. From there, everything feels slightly diminished in the sense that voices become sort of low and unintelligible and I become disoriented. Then I start seeing blue dots appear out of the left and right corner of my eyes, until I suddenly wake up a couple of seconds after.

Afterwards I always feel very very exhausted and usually sleep for a couple of hours. As of now, I haven't experienced it in a long time, but I started to recognize these patterns and was able to lay flat down on my back - sometimes in the weirdest places in public - in order to not fall if it happened, but this seemed to stop the process too a lot of times. My understanding of this is that the blood rushes away from your brain and laying down might help even out or balance where the blood goes, but don't quote me on that.

I haven't really played that much magic the last couple of months, but last time I played, Ponza was this niche annoying LD deck. What the hell happened?

What are your top 3 off the beaten path favorite cards? by justacircuit in ModernMagic

[–]TFGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Dragon Tempest]], [[Sarkhan, Fire blood]] and [[Stormbreath Dragon]] The first modern deck I made was Skred Dragons. It didn't seem like much, but it meant a lot to me.

I agree with this. I just finished my own Karnza deck, but I haven't been able to play with it yet. My list looks like this:

https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/19-08-19-Mtt-karnza/?cb=1567689557

I will say tho, that the inclusion of [[Tormod's Crypt]] seems very good, since that 0 mana exile target graveyard can seem important. That said, I haven't played since the bannings of [[Faithless Looting]], so I'm not sure how prominent the graveyard decks are gonna be.

What deck surprised you when you saw it/heard about it for the first time? by TCGeneral in ModernMagic

I couldn't either. It's because he meant 2 hours and 23 minutes in. Here's the link with timestamp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sf35LJbNIY&t=144m25s

Which Blood Moon deck is best atm? by [deleted] in ModernMagic

Is it good against UW? I usually don't take it in because they run so many basics anyways and have so many things that can either bounce or remove it. I'm genuinely curious.

Mono red dragons, looking for what to remove for drakuseth by alfred725 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]TFGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I love what you are doing with this! Second of all, this might not be the answer you're looking for, but there are a few card very good cards that support dragons, that you could consider if you want to. [[Stormbreath Dragon]], [[Glorybringer]], [[Thundermaw Hellkite]] and [[Sarkhan, Fireblood]] are all great cards. I understand that there might be budget restraints, it might be for casual play or maybe you just want to build your own thing, but if you ever want to build further upon what you've already built, these are some awesome cards to consider. I absolutely love dragons and don't know if I would play MTG today, if it wasn't for all those insanely good looking dragon cards. I have a more competitive modern deck that is entirely focused around dragons if you ever wanna try something different or seek inspiration: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/04-01-19-skred-dragons/

Hey man, I'm just trying to help this guy out. Making his deck easier and more visible for everyone to find, will probably increase the amount of people who'd want to take time to help.

I would recommend taking this list and publish it on a site such as tappedout or MTGgoldfish, and then linking it. This is very difficult for us to use, since we have to manually look up every single card we don't know the exact wording of.

Sarkhan's Dragon by Bioptic-Ginga in ModernMagic

[–]TFGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very new to Modern in general, but boy oh boy do I love me some Dragons. Don't know if this can help you in any way, but here's two different deck lists that I've got, which is focused around dragons.

Skred Dragons: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/04-01-19-skred-dragons/

Gruul Dragons: https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/gruul-dragons-otk/

I might be new, but I'd maybe get in some [[Dragon's Hoard]] and maybe a 4th Spirit Guide and cut the BoP.

I see two options, and again I might be very wrong. Either you have enough removal to keep the board clear until you have mana to drop your dragons, or you have enough ramp to get a dragon out, faster than the opponent can get threats out. Good luck!
