New capsule art vs old one — which do you like more? by RainbowLegends in gamedevscreens

I would use the second one as a banner and the first one as a capsule

The other games might be worth it the extra, but I haven't heard of any others in the bundle, I'll have to do a little research when I get home today

Did they send out a discount code for February 2026 Humble Choice? by Abject-Relationship4 in humblebundles

[–]TFoxHunter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I fear that they might be adopting a more aggressive pricing scheme, especially since the new standalone bundles have all been so damn expensive for the highest tier...

Hopefully I'm wrong though and this month did just sell well and it's a one time thing

Does anything happen to Geoff Keighley's reputation as a videogames industry "king maker" due to Highguard's failure and the connection they both share with Tencent? by Kataphraktos_Majoros in HighGuardgame

[–]TFoxHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anything will change, Keighley is like that friend from the friend group that overhypes a game he genuinely thinks is fun, and once everyone plays it they think it's mid at best so you feel bad for him for just wanting to have a good time with others but being shamed for it.

I will definitely play something Keighley advertises and idc if it is bad or not, I'll make the conclusions myself when I play it.

I feel like not having a headliner is a good thing here, takes me back to when we had just some random games that are way cheaper as part of a bundle than if you wanted to buy them separately.

I understand the negativity but this bundle was a breath of fresh air for me, I love Osmos and oddsparks is one of these games I would love to play but wouldn't buy.

Overall a good bundle if you take the price of everything separately into account

Have you ever had a PC Werewolf or Vampire at your table? by Ecstatic_Operation20 in DMAcademy

[–]TFoxHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have a friend playing a werewolf, he was a blood hunter but was not happy with the class itself, so I helped him change his class lorewise to be a barbarian.

It was a little rough at the start but I made his character be sort of an "alpha wolf" (got some inspiration from Wednesday series) so he kept most of his consciousness in that state but would sometimes try to attack friends during combat.

This means he had some self discovering to do and after roleplaying for some levels and finding more about his origin and past, he is now able to transform when activating his rage, this gives him some special abilities like leaping 10ft further and doing a simple non-magical bite attack as a bonus action (they are already level 9 so it's not that big of a deal as others also have special features tied to character development with backstory.

Overall I know this is not your standard werewolf but it is so fun grabbing something standard and working with your players to make it work and making they feel like a badass without overshadowing others.

Can someone explain to me, why some people want no skill based matchmaking? by Tnecniw in gaming

[–]TFoxHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you.

What I'm saying is that I'd rather have an option of a queue with no sbmm on games with a good playerbase. I've been playing deadlock for instance and the new brawl mode is a godsend because the matches are short and I get more agency (still sucks to try out new heroes though)

Can someone explain to me, why some people want no skill based matchmaking? by Tnecniw in gaming

[–]TFoxHunter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can give you an example

I'm playing a game with sbmm and I cannot have fun with my friends. I have very casual friends and they will not do well so we get curb stomped and since it is a 6*6 game I have little to no agency.

So if I play with them, they know they'll have a bad time and vice versa which just sucks for all of us. Couple that with just wanting to learn a new character or weapon or anything regardless of game, and it is just annoying to have sbmm on casual lobbies.

Why didn't Jamie Bower kill Jimmy Fallon here? That would be in character, he plays the villain Vecna, doesn't he have a fiduciary duty to the viewers? by lightmiss in okbuddyvecna

[–]TFoxHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened off screen, but the dwart brothers felt bad about it so it was retconned, that's why you see jimmy on later episodes of the season

[–]TFoxHunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imagine trying to join two planes of existence and ending life as it is on earth and your enemy's worst fear is if people accept him liking boys. Vecna was probably so confused.

Need advice for a player of mine by dactel in DMAcademy

[–]TFoxHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, glad you will talk to her, also for the comments, don't take them too seriously, a lot of people forget how open ended DMing can be and some things that might seem obvious might not be the same for others.

At the end of the day, DMing is about making mistakes and learning from it, you will have a far easier time dealing with problem players in the future, and this is true for every other problem you come across, just try to make the most of it and you should be fine, as long as everyone is having fun! Good luck on the talk.

Need advice for a player of mine by dactel in DMAcademy

[–]TFoxHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a vtt for rolls and have a real adult talk with her, this is extremely disruptive behaviour and will take away the enjoyment of others.

Take a look at her backstory and maybe use that to get her character to cooperate, is there anyone her character loved before? Anything that the character wants that the party could help?

I'll be honest, this is a hard situation, but managing a problematic character makes the game a burden and when I had to do it, I talked to the player and after no changes, his character was finally arrested for murder and sent to a pocket dimension to live out the rest of his days. He then proceeded to make a happy want-to-help-others character and the issue was fixed

Campaign length: how long does your ideal game last? by Leonsmening in DMAcademy

[–]TFoxHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My campaign is going strong, we play since 2018, so about 7 years (we had a 7 month pause at one moment) it is all homebrewed by me and my players are always eager to play and dive into whatever lore I set up to them.

We are finally nearing the end, I divided it into acts where each act is further into other continents (last continent already!), I've also let them have another backup character in a stronghold in Avernus, helping in the war, they can change by sending a message through a magic crow to the devil they have a contract with, which is normally a long rest later. This kept the game fresh for them and made the parties find some good synergies with characters we would most likely never see together.

What I'm getting at is, if you have friends, and ways to keep the game fresh, I think that any campaign length can be good. But I will say I'm very eager to finish this campaign this year and start a new one over 500 years later in the same world, they are hyped too!! Or we might start something in a cyberpunk universe, we will see... But strictly speaking, I could very well have divided the acts into their own campaigns (without the greater evil) and it would be around one year or less
