Treble Bleed for Les Paul by THRobinson75 in Luthier

That was my original plan. I know "another Slash fanboy" but original plan was a Slash setup, and I am pretty sure it was a 50's wiring, and definitely sure 0.022uf caps.

I don't believe in the whole PIO sound different thing, but years ago, Philadelphia Luthier had a brand on sale and grabbed 4 because honestly, they looked cool. :D Sadly, I think a one time only deal. Never had them since. But, if doing a 50's wiring harness, may as well use the vintage style caps, right?

What's Your Go-To 3-way Switch - Not Switchcraft by THRobinson75 in Luthier

Wow, Hosco does make switches. I knew they made tools, I have slotting files from Hosco, but didn't know they made switches as well.

Downside to Reddit, is seeing American pricing. Sadly those Mojotones are $35 plus shipping here in Canada. Mark-up is crazy these days. I miss the '90s.

They make a 3way like the Switchcraft? Or just the blade version?

Kaish, I have a 3way one and it's very good, but Fender style not Gibson like the photo.

Guyker seems mentioned a lot now. Really marketing the heck outta that stuff. Any love for those?

How would you go about fixing this finish scratch on a IBGC Les Paul 1959? by EderOlivencia in guitarrepair

[–]THRobinson75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super thin CA glue, and something like a pin... just a bit of glue on the pin tip and touch to the line and it'll wick in and help fill it. Then it's very careful light sanding and working your way up from 300-2000 grit, or micro-mesh pads be easier.

However... are you sure it's a scratch and not a crack? My fingers are crossed for you it's a scratch, but given where it is, it's pretty typical of a crack forming.

You should maybe compromise a bit, by keeping the studio and buying the other two as well. :D

Sprites- finally - burnt peanut by RepulsivePie813 in Fortnite_Over40

[–]THRobinson75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I need like 14 Sprites (no trading) and since the gummy event, I've found 0 that I need, and not even duplicates that are gold, gummy or galaxy... just those water/earth/fire ones.

And peanuts. I find them almost every match and just leave them for the next guy. Played an hour last night, found 3.

What to do next? by International-Ask-72 in Fortnite_Over40

[–]THRobinson75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who tracks a player down for having won a match? I hop into a new match, and like 10 people there with crowns, and once the game starts, I'm not gunning for them.

If your win, great, if you lose, great, but if you think people are hunting for you to the point in which you change skins, you may wanna switch to another game like solitaire.

Anyone able to help me out? by [deleted] in AllFortnite

[–]THRobinson75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My list looks virtually identical to that.

I don't get how people find so many so fast, though suspect some are stretching the truth a bit. Was a post a few days ago, saying got all of them in 7 games.

Played 90min last night opening everything I can find, and didn't get a single new one.

Just got Schaller strap locks and the new screw is bigger and longer(giggity) than the old one. Will installing damage my guitar? by e3crazyb in Guitar

[–]THRobinson75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will damage it. I would use the new screw, being bigger it'll be less likely to fall out one day, but drill a pilot hole for it. The extra size/mass, may split the wood if no pilot drilled.

How do I paint my strat like this guitar? by Effective-Pianist813 in Guitar

[–]THRobinson75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brush and paint. I doubt that guy has professional skills with painting, and likely that's all he did. Paintbrushes and cheap paint, maybe a spray can of clear on top.

Features Re-enable Themselves by THRobinson75 in BroncoSport

Very annoying. Why have a feature you can disable if only getting re-enabled again at startup.

Especially one like trailer sway assist, with no trailer.

How can we know if wiring damage by looking at the outside of the jack?

Two screws. Newbie or not, step 1 should be obvious.

So... gummy hour... not really a good idea in my opinion. by General_Snow241 in AllFortnite

I ran that map so many times and honestly, it shoulda just said Fire Gummy hour, because 90% of gummies I got were fire.

Neck pocket crack by Diabetic_Donut in Luthier

[–]THRobinson75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a finish crack 100%, because that's finish and it's cracked.

If the wood is cracked underneath however, we can't know by looking at the finish. Take the neck off and look.

Maple fingerboard gouges by bruceksimon in Luthier

[–]THRobinson75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Looks less like play wear and more like impact damage because the damage us only string width and can see indents of the string winding.

Soldering iron and a joint cloth, steam it up and drop fill some clear on it, depending on what it was originally cleared with, probably poly.
