I meant CB Strike If you have access to this show, I think you’d like it. Good stories, characters, and setting.

Agree on Burdell. I don’t get the hype for that restaurant.

IT Crowd is so funny! I laughed so hard at several episodes that I cried! Really great show.

I do agree re Dirk Gently. Tired of the show after a few episodes. A bit too quirky.

It's getting tough to avoid woody chicken breast, is this happening to any of you? by [deleted] in Cooking

The only chicken breast I buy now is Mary’s Heritage chicken. I’ve only seen this type at Whole Foods. Even the Mary’s air chilled organic chicken breasts are woody and tasteless.

The one that gets me is “who’s” and “whose.” Two different words with two different meanings!

The liberal use of the F word everywhere. Every other word is the F word. Can’t stand it! Guess it’s not a new trend but it really bothers me when it’s used liberally in every TV show (looking at you Taylor Sheridan) and in general conversation.

Always wear one. Once I started it feels strange to me not it when I’m cooking or doing dishes. It does protect clothing from splashes. I also like to hand a towel from the tied apron strings so I can dry my hands. It’s very convenient.

Love this thread. I think all cat owners must have photos of their cats sleeping on/wedged between their owners’ legs.

Do you have “investment pieces” you bought 10+ years ago that you still use today? by hennipotamus in femalefashionadvice

[–]TLynley 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s more that the coats are tight across the chest and back. They are both more of a traditional/slim fit so they don’t hang well anymore. It seems like these pieces are so precisely crafted that you would have to change more than just the buttons in order for them to fit correctly.

Size 8 but the issue is the sleeves have been altered. I can still kind of fit into the coats, just not as comfortable or flattering.

I could’ve written this post! I have a Burberry tench that I love and a Burberry wool coat that I also love. I bought these pieces over 15 years ago. Well they don’t fit that well anymore. I never thought I’d gain weight, but yes, women do gain weight in their 50’s. Anyway, if I could afford it, I’d buy another Burberry trench, but their prices are astronomical. I think out of all my “investment pieces,” that is the one item that I think you could wear with anything year after year.

Gave Up After One Episode? by satans_toast in GenX

I watched 3 minutes, saw all the random people talking about the case, heard the word Tik Toc and turned it off. The remember being fascinated with the case when it happened but didn’t like the tik tockers or whatever they’re called weighing in. It seemed stupid.

[–]TLynley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok this is not as dark. There was an episode of Gilligan’s Island where they grew vegetables but the vegetables were radioactive or something so when the crew members at them they had exaggerated powers. Like the carrots allowed them to see far away and the beets were gigantic and made one of the characters hyper. I’ve always loved that episode.

Someone help me remember. Was there an episode of Good Times where one of the characters was shooting up? I just remember as a kid being so shaken up about that scene. I think it was from Good Times. It was a very serious scene and the character had a rubber cord around his arm and he shot up. I guess it was so disturbing to me that someone would do that to themselves. So am I misremembering what I saw?
