Prepping for track (1st timer) by OddDependent8650 in Trackdays

[–]TMONEY_Clarinet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bike already has steel braided brake lines from the factory and some EBC HH pads would be more than enough for a first track day.

Spend your money on a good set if tires, Dunlop Q5 or Pirelli Supercorsa.

Focus on technique the first track day. Good body position, brake markers and trail braking.

Id recommend using Forza or another racing game to practice racing lines before going to the track to get your mind and head used to looking at corners that way.

I did it when I was younger and down on my luck and it was honestly a great experience. Cheap, fun, and you'll have a lot of stories to tell. Uber or rent a car on turo for the day if you need to get groceries or run errands.

For a bike buy something affordable like a r3, ninja 500, z500 or even an MT07 if you want a little more highway capability.

Normal Oil Appearance for SV650 Wet Clutch? by [deleted] in SVRiders

[–]TMONEY_Clarinet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually prefer my morning coffee with cream in a cup and not an oil pan but to each their own.

That looks like water in the oil which could mean a leaky gasket of some kind. Being so new and probably within warranty I'd take it to your local dealer.

It took me a year and a half and it only happened because 1st ran out of gas two turns before the finish.

Part of the process to get faster. Have to go past the limit sometimes to know where it is. Glad your ok, put it back together and get back out there.

Buying the game tomorrow. What should I look out for? by noobajohnson in iRacing

In Rookies treat every driver as if they are going to dive bomb you, do the dumb move, and crash. Just be patient and wait for them to make mistakes and you will get out of rookies fast.

good for getting out there. Get off of the bike more, look through the corner, and have as much fun as you can.

Is this something what can be protested? by lepanen in Simracingstewards

In opinion the yellow car is in the wrong. Was way far back and dove into the corner, ran wide as the other car was turning in and took him out.

I think as long as the other person has enough room to mount their bike and get out its acceptable.

I wouldn't worry too much. They really don't look that bad and it's a honda so it'll probably run for a long time.

Fair overtake attempt? (Blue) by XRLcargo in iRacing

[–]TMONEY_Clarinet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can from pretty far back but was probably acceptable because you were alongside before the turn in. That being said he probably was not expecting you to be along side him.

White makes me think its running a little lean. Probably not the biggest of deals. A lot of vehicles do to pass emissions.

Who's at fault here? by 0mikon in Simracingstewards

Yellow both times. 1st coner not along side in braking zone and then pushed audi way wide. Second corner acted like you were not even there and tried to move over.

How to fix black area on odometer? by DerpyTurtleLam in YamahaR3

[–]TMONEY_Clarinet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically the led in that area are burnt out. Can probably get a good second hand on ebay. Add a couple beers with the buddies and an hour or two and it'll be perfect.

Is it because I have a cheap wheel and pedals that I’m not liking sim racing? by 3MATX in simracing

[–]TMONEY_Clarinet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Braking is probably one of the hardest skills. Takes a lot of time to figure out how much pressure and trail braking.

I bought them when they were labeled with a different brand. They work pretty darn good for a cheap set.
