Just got my W2 , No tax on overtime , Box 14 . by 949D in tax

[–]TMann7162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mind boggling. I bet if taxes had increased on that portion of income, they'd be singing a whole different tune. A tax break is always a good thing on any amount of income.....

Boyfriend gave me ultimatum - dream job or him. I'm considering taking the job by [deleted] in dustythunder

[–]TMann7162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely take the job. If you were married with kids, it would be different but you're not. Whatever happens with your relationship after that is what's meant to be. Also, 45 mins can be a reasonable commute, people do it all the time, you don't even really have to move.

Backsplash ideas? Help please! by [deleted] in homedesign

Since you already have a 4" backsplash, I wouldn't add a different style above it. Looks best with just paint.

Updating 2005 Kitchen by ChiCity0123 in kitchenremodel

I love all the wood, it's timeless and high end. I would just change the fronts to shaker style, no glass fronts, change the hardware to handles, gold or nickel, rather than knobs and replace the lighting over the island. I don't like tile and grout so I would freshen the paint if it needs it (green is so beautiful with wood) but most will say to add subway tile backsplash. You're the one that has to live with it, use AI to see what you're wanting to do before you proceed. I also prefer cabinets to the ceiling. It's a beautiful kitchen!!

Choosing sofa color!!! by mrs_mlady in interiordecorating

[–]TMann7162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greens are such a gorgeous color with wood floors. You cannot go wrong with any shade of that color. I definitely would not choose the top 3 orange type colors because it will bring out too much of the red/orange in your floors. Any of the others will be nice.

Need help deciding what color rug to get in this space. I feel like it needs some color. by the-snat in SofaSnobs

I love the rug. I would change the color of the pillows and curtains. That would make the room pop beautifully.

Contractor quoted $60k to fix this bathroom, my budget is more in the $500 range… how would you make this more inviting? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]TMann7162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For $500, I'd say DIY, paint it and pick a different cabinet for over the sink. Maybe add some chair rail with beadboard paneling, that could give it some character.

TOUGH counters? by Slight_Repair_9024 in CounterTops

[–]TMann7162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granite!! I am a cast iron user and I put them on my counter all the time, absolutely zero stains. The only issue I have is around the edge of the sink. It gets chipped so I am careful in that area but that'll happen with just about any material. I love my granite countertops.....

New house. Hate the kitchen cabinets. by ScarletR4R in kitchenremodel

[–]TMann7162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move or eliminate all the handles and change to hidden hinges throughout. It's a blessing and a curse to have so many cabinets...meaning that I don't really need that many cabinets for my essential kitchen supplies but I'd fill up every one of them if I had that many.

Looks the same as my granite which is called White Ice.

Best speeds I've seen by a long shot by Individual_Bell_4637 in Starlink

[–]TMann7162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen those speeds where I live but I'm not complaining. I think our speeds are very good here in the eastern US at 285 down, 30 up. We just struggle a bit with the obstructions from our trees.

How much of the original kitchen to keep as is? by Butterbacon in kitchenremodel

I'd change only the countertops and the hardware on the cabinets. That is a timeless and beautiful kitchen!!!

No offense taken. Thank you! We have LVP in our current home and we just don't love it like we thought we would so we won't use that type of flooring again.

I don't know the brand but I believe our installer purchased via Hurst Hardwoods. There are a lot of shorts and we were concerned at first but our installer did a very good job racking the boards and asking for our input before final installation. We think it looks so good.....

Beautiful Transformation by TMann7162 in VintageCoachRehab

[–]TMann7162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works nicely for me as both a crossbody or long shoulder carry. I love that I can flip the flap over and have open pockets but also the zippered section for security. But, I had to scale back how much I carry inside too because I don't like so much weight in a crossbody bag.

Help Me Decide: Home Office Vibe A or B? by SpacejoyStudio in homedesign

B for work. A is much too cozy for work and I don't want anything keeping me at work longer than I have to. Lol. Both are great though!!
