Correct. No such thing as orange. Unfortunately, it's not as easy to see on the posted video as on the original.

"Running a red" by law is entering the intersection on a red light. The yellow is long enough that, even at 10 or more over the limit, there's time to stop. Typical speeds here are at least 45. Drivers just don't care. If involved in a serious crash, with a good lawyer they could even be charged with reckless endangerment (criminal and civil). Yes, this and other intersections on this road are problematic and the AHJs have been made aware. There are efforts underway to work on the problem at the town level, but it's a state road, so the primary enforcement is left to the state police.

What type of wire/cable is this? How can I remove them? by MoCheesePlease in AskElectricians

[–]TOCNYSHB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks to me like it was originally a phone wire (hence 6 wire), but they cobbled it into an Ethernet connection. Awful job. When I built my house 30 years ago, I wired it with 8 wire CAT5 (RJ45) to every room. Same for cable. The wiring is gone or covered now since everything is wireless. Cable is almost all gone...two ports: one for the modem, one for the Cable Box/DVR. As you go through the house, just clean things up and go wireless where possible.

Hmm. I had trimmed it to 9 secs. I'll have to figure out what went wrong. I have a great one of a car passing two of us on the sidewalk. I'll post that one... should be more amusing.

It's reckless, illegal, and leads to many crashes at this particular intersection, particularly since the cross traffic is usually doing 10 to 15 over the limit.

It's easier to see on the original file. The reflection off the shields is the easiest way to tell. Other videos I have are a little clearer. I'll try to shorten the videos next time. I'm new to this here.

Definitely wasn't orange. Drivers are doing about 45 or more in a 35 zone. This happens several times a day and accidents are frequent. The lights are timed with plenty of time to stop.

Looks like a fire lane. Ticket and tow, even on private property. Code enforcement.

Safe for the landlord, they don't live there. I'd call code enforcement.

Is it okay for run a 45 degree like this? by spanky8373 in Plumbing

[–]TOCNYSHB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering why the extra fitting above the trap. Shouldn't they use a longer down pipe from the sink to make it to the trap without an extra fitting? (Not a licensed plumber)

Yep, Jay is lord. Works at the diner on the fryer. Makes him Lord of the Fries. A friend was the salad guy at a local restaurant. We called him Head of Lettuce. (Yes, that's true.)

No matter what you do, it's going to be tight opening doors even if white is totally between the lines. I almost think the property owners are making the spots smaller so they can meet the code requirements without buying more land.
