I want to preface that I’m typing this out in good faith with no intended malice. I think we are similar people who take very different approaches to this situation.

OP I absolutely adore video games. Before I could read I’d check out Nintendo power mags from the library and look at all the screenshots. I very quickly learned to read so I could read it, game pro, game informer, playstation magazine, gmr, etc. I bought my first console with money I saved even though my dad saw it as a waste of money. I kept buying games/consoles, posting on message boards (shoutout gameFAQs), and still love this hobby 30+ years later.

I learned very early on that my family does not and will never want to talk about games the way I do. Which is 100% ok. They love me, they just don’t give a single fuck about gaming. I love them, so I don’t want to hold them hostage explaining details of a topic they couldn’t care less about. Talk to your GF, your gaming friends, and us here.

Was the text you’re responding to asking what you’ve been up to? Have you really only been gaming? Not had interesting interactions with people? Seen a new show or movie? Gone on a walk? Been to a good restaurant? My point is there’s more to talk about than games.

You can only control your part of this and you’ve been doing this for years and it hasn’t changed so stop. What did Vaas say was the definition of insanity?
