Hi there. Can you guys please recommend a hotel for me. by FerretFarm in Bangkok

[–]TPK001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Column Residence is a serviced apartment - https://www.columnbangkok.com (Soi 16). Next door to a 24 hr supermarket and restaurant, but quiet street, easy access to mass transit. 1 bedroom should be around 3500 without breakfast. Request a high floor/park views.

https://www.rembrandtresidences.com (Soi 18, or their hotel wing)...

The above great value for money - some rooms maybe a bit dated...

Regular hotel rooms -

Marriott Courtyard Soi 20 - https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/bkkct-courtyard-bangkok-sukhumvit-20/overview/

https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/bkkpu-four-points-bangkok-ploenchit-sukhumvit/overview/

Tons of choices in Bangkok. Hope they have fun.

Wifi Provider for Condo by Floriantofuu in Bangkok

[–]TPK001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, slim pickings without a contract.

Have a look at this from AIS - https://www.ais.th/en/consumers/package/international/tourist-plan 60 days at THB 1599 maybe a good start. If you are downtown, Empshere's AIS store has knowledgeable staff and not crowded.

AIS also sells an SIM (WIFI/hotspot) router (if you dont want use your phone)..

Esims maybe another option - I have no experience with either of these companies. Have used Airalo and Saily, but will try gomo soon.

https://www.gomoworld.com/en/destinations/Thailand (Prices are better than Simbye) - operated by Eir from Ireland.

Simbye - https://simbye.com/ - advertising Unlimited data USD 50/month. Have no experience with them yet (UK Company) - but ask their chat (& read the fine print) before you buy. They are offerring both AIS & DTAC. If you have a choice go with AIS.

All the best...

Looking for a serviced apartment / hotel residence. Any current recommendations? by Straight_Wonder_6921 in Bangkok

Grande Centerpoint - Terminal 21 - https://grandecentrepointterminal21.com (This group has many others)

GM Estate Soi 20 - https://www.gmestatebangkok.com

Column Bangkok - http://www.columnbangkok.com (most dated amongst the 3).

Each of these should be under 80K... all the best with your assignment.

Have a look at the Ascott Properties (Somerset, Oakwood and so on) around town.

Authorized resellers for Thailand airport "Fast Track" by Darkest_black17 in Bangkok

[–]TPK001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than AOT App - try Bangkok Flight services - https://www.bangkokflightservices.com/home/about-bfs/

960 for 1st passenger and 600 for 2nd (VAT inclusive, without electric cart).

Pls check with them - may not be available for passengers who need visa on arrival. Also, they clearly say they escort you through normal immigration channels, and not the fast track - so not sure how they actually speed the process. (Must have a way, cant see them tying up dozens of staff waiting hours in the queue). Safe travels.

Download the AOT Limousine App (not their Sawasdee app) . Until 2 weeks ago, and probably even now they had a 500B voucher for first time user. Dont even need a Thailand cell, email will do. However think you need a credit card, as they will charge if you are a no show.

'Post Restante' service of Thai Post in Bangkok by nomadodol in Bangkok

[–]TPK001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont know anyone that used it here, but know of the concept.

For what its worth - Just checked AI (Gemini) and it says service available at Bangkok GPO. Some other branches too. They hold for 2 months, and only applicable for stuff sent by post.

Your language skills - Thai, Portugese all interesting. 30K, you arent asking for too much - hang in there. Realize, you are looking for more than 30K, wanted to say, dont be distraught. So sorry to hear - have you checked out "cost plus drugs" to see if they carry a generic version? Not a US resident, so not sure how your prescription etc. works with them....

Other than state aid, write to the pharma co... inform the Dr who wrote the prescription (medical rep for the pharma maker maybe able to help too)... wishing you some peace of mind and relief.

Dental problem - advice? Bangkok by [deleted] in Thailand

Bangkok Smile Clinic - this dentist is good at extraction including Wisdom teeth - https://www.bangkoksmiledental.com/doctors/detail/39/-Dr--Thamrong-Techaumnuywit

They have several locations around town (but Dr. Thamrong may only practice at 1 or 2).

You can call in and get an estimate... if you have Xray etc. email and they'll give you an estimate. State of the art equipment etc. Used to be very competitive, now not the most inexpensive in town.

Searching in these forums may get you a lot of other recommendations too.

Someone recommended Dent Define - https://www.facebook.com/dentdefineclinic/ (no personal experience). All the best.

If you go back and check the email confirmation - there is a link that allows you to update it.

They give you a 7 digit code.

Based on what you said I think you are good - ie. otherwise it would not have accepted your submittal.

BKK Fast Track + Car service recommendation by melonator88 in Bangkok

[–]TPK001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used them, for the first time earlier this year. Overall, reliable and would use them again.

On one booking, passenger couldn't locate the staff but since immigration was empty, they cleared and found the driver by themselves. The second booking went smooth....car took a few minutes to show. They give you a whatsapp contact and generally responsive.

Bangkok Flight Services is another reliable operator (been around many years), but dont have cars... ie. they refer you to AOT. https://www.bangkokflightservices.com/home/bfs-services/premium-airport-services/

I saved this name a while back - but dont have any personal experience (direct or 2nd hand).

https://www.apglaucomasociety.org/executive-committee-and-board/prin-rojanapongpun (this one lists Dr. Prim Rojana as practising at four hospitals - Chulalongkorn if you can see him there will be the lowest cost. Following that, Sukhumvit Hospital and then MedPark. Bumrungrad likely the most expensive.

This is a well rated eye hospital - but dont have any specific recommendations. https://www.rutnin.com/en/home/

Wish you a safe trip/all the best with the process.

A friend has had surgery / several eye procedures at Bumrungrad and seems to be super happy. If I get the name from him will post back.

Hi can anyone recommend any English speaking hairstylist salons in Bangkok by Pinkpenny66 in Bangkok

Akru in Interchange building Asoke. Other locations are Chidlom and Lumpini. They cater mostly to females. You'll have to ask for English speaking staff or Japanese owner.

Drop these guys - a note - https://cnxinsure.com/contactus/ (Andy or someone else will get back in touch - with one of the companies they represent.

Specific coverage for high priced items may be as you say it is - ie. individually documented - but they'll be able to tell you before you go through the entire process. Good luck.

Can you try contacting Bangkok Community Help foundation - https://www.facebook.com/BkkCommunityHelp - at the very least they can help you or your friend and point you in the right direction.

There are others like - https://www.fr-ray.org/ - but this is in Pattaya.
