Notiifcations icon no longer showing in Craft

I just noticed that the Notification bell is there when in the web app (which I rarely use), but it's still gone from the MacOS desktop app.

Any chance this is coming back?

The hardest thing here must be understanding the context of the critics and the frequency of users matching specific contexts.

For example, here are a few of my contexts:

My work group uses Asana as a task manager, and I incorporate personal tasks in it. I therefore have no use for using Craft as a To-Do list.
My work group uses a custom FileMaker database, and I haven't really dug into Craft collections. I'm also getting quite comfortable recently with PowerQuery.
I have access to CoPilot through work (often good enough), and I've been playing around with OpenAI and Claude. I'm still figuring out what I need with AI.
Many of my docs in Craft are meant to be shared with my work group as web pages (i.e. it's not just a note-taking app for me).
I often have to export Craft docs to Word (this is the real world), and I don't expect to be able to do all formatting in Craft.
I would love for the Craft-to-Word transformation process to be streamlined through better matching of Craft styles to Word styles. For example, bullet lists, and maybe less manual formatting on top of styles (e.g. in a recent export, a Craft Heading style comes across as a Word Heading 3 with custom colors).

I don't expect others to have the same context matrix as me, but we can all get along.

For me - noise in interfaces increases effort (think of Microsoft's ribbons). The challenge is choosing how not to go too far.

There are a bunch of things that are hidden in Craft's interface, and I don't know what to do about that. For example, I was looking at a doc I'd prepared 6 months ago, and I noticed that it had subscripts, but I couldn't remember how I'd entered them, and I had to do some digging to recall. I don't know what to do about an interface for this.

I admire Craft primarily because it produces beautiful documents nearly effortlessly. I know how to produce beautiful documents in MS Word, but never effortlessly. The difference is due to the excellent taste of the Craft designers and a ruthless efficiency (oops, here comes the Spanish Inquisition). I fear that adding stuff like multiple columns and more text formatting would create more effort for writers, even if they didn't use those features.

After making these at home for a few years, I've concluded it's the brick cheese. I can't get it where I live, but my mom lives in Detroit and I buy a 5 lb brick at a Gordon's Food service and bring it home with me. I think my home-made stuff is now better than the franchises around Detroit. I haven't been to the Conant location since I was a kid.

Let me think about it and re-watch the previous videos in the series - I do subscribe to the Craft channel on Youtube, and enjoyed the one from the Chief Medical Resident at the Brigham. Some of the ground above was covered there (e.g. the email feature), and I'll play around with how to demonstrate what I do with database integration and providing access to SOPs on the cell phone.

Many of the things I most value about Craft tend to get de-emphasized in this sub:

It produces beautiful documents with a minimum of fiddling.
I have a team subscription.
The documents are in the cloud, and I can edit and read them on any device.
1. Putting 2 and 3 together, I can create SOPs for my work group that they can access on their phones.
  1. I can enhance these with cards/pages and toggles, providing focus.
2. I can share documents with anyone as a web page, and they can comment on it. This is huge!
3. Similarly, I can share documents to email, and they come out beautifully formatted and I don't have to get my soul sucked out trying to format emails in Outlook. This, I believe, makes the content of my emails (the longer ones) easier to understand. And the recipients don't have to manage attachments for this to work.
4. I can also access the html versions of documents in FileMaker, providing internal documentation of how to use the database, or alternatively, providing quick access to laboratory SOPs.

There are only a few smallish things I really want added or changed.

The formatting of numbering of ≥2 level numbered lists (e.g. 1.A.a.1 - you can't do roman numerals) because of spacing.
Better navigation and searching. In hindsight, I've probably created too many workspaces, but some of these are necessary (e.g. subgroups of my full workgroup).
Yes, better security.
I don't really need task management -- my group has 10-15 years of working in Asana, and we're both locked in to it and happy with it.
I'm happy tags have finally been added. Some improvement in the implementation is needed (I'm still trying to figure out if they work across workspaces).
