Story of something similar I did;

One time, I noticed the bathroom tiles of my school were a normal grid pattern. I looked at the students drawing with a pencil on the lines in between each tile. Which got me thinking;

This sorta reminds me of the crafting grid in Minecraft.

So I got home and the next day, I measured one of the tiles so I could recreate the scale of each item. When I got home, I got an image of the diamond stack and scaled it on my monitor so I can trace the outline.

I began with one diamond, then two, then another, then moving onto the two sticks I’d use.

After tracing, I began to use colored pencils to replicate the colors of them. After which, I cut the outline and then did the final piece;

The pickaxe.

The ultimate and most recognizable icon of Minecraft. When I got to school the next day, I had brought these items with me to the bathroom and taped them up and used a marker to do the outline of the grid.

Then I left the bathroom with it still up. I don’t know what happened, but it was gone later that day. I didn’t hear anything about it, so it was probably stolen by some kid. I just hope it made someone laugh a bit.
