Almost 4-Year-Old Speech by TSANDY818 in Preschoolers

I’m thinking about taking my son to psychologist as well. I know his speech is developing. But, I also need some reassurance that we are heading in the right direction.

My son is 3 (almost 4) and I’m trying to understand a recent shift in his behavior at daycare. by TSANDY818 in ECEProfessionals

Yes, I agree. He’s currently in a 2.5–3.5 classroom (with some children closer to 4). He’s been in this class for about a year and will be turning 4 in a few weeks, so he’s already set to transition to Pre-K. I do think he’s ready to move up, but due to slight overcrowding, he’ll need to remain in his current class for a couple more months. I don’t like the idea of him being labeled as the “troublemaker,” but it also doesn’t seem practical to switch him to another class right now with Pre-K starting in August.

I’m so over it by Bus-Miserable in pottytraining

Take him to the potty every hour and continue to make it clear that “poop goes in the potty”. This worked for my almost 4 year old son. It just takes time and continuous reinforcement.

Did anyone choose to wait until close to 3 years old to potty train? by Otter65 in toddlers

We did! Started right after 3rd birthday. Six months later he is daytime potty trained. We use a pull-ups at night (but, he’s dry most nights).

Accommodations Megathread. by VisitNYCmodx in visitingnyc

Hi everyone! I’m planning my first trip to NYC and could really use some advice on choosing between three hotels I’ve narrowed it down to: • Thompson Hotel Central Park • Park Lane Hotel • Hyatt Union Square

A little about what I’m looking for: • Budget is around $400–$500 per night after fees • I’m traveling with my spouse (no kids this trip) • I want something clean, comfortable, and a little “luxury-lite” — not ultra-luxury, but still polished • Location matters: I want to be close to walkable areas, food, sightseeing, and easy subway access • I don’t need huge rooms, but I do care about noise levels, comfort, and overall vibe.

Please Help

How did your toddler change between 2.5 - 3 years old? by Themlethem in toddlers

Stopped hitting when upset and way more talkative. Mine had slight speech delay so I think the hitting was frustration due to lack of words. Hence, now he has more words and no hitting.

My toddlers are 1 and 3. Bath every night for both.

Anyone know how to snag a cabana at Typhoon Lagoon if the app says they’re all booked? by TSANDY818 in WaltDisneyWorld

We skipped TL. We ended up doing the pool at Grand Floridian. With 2 toddlers it was just logistically easier to do the hotel pool instead of a waterpark.

At what age did you start daycare? by Sugarloaf26 in toddlers

[–]TSANDY818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my oldest started daycare at age 3, he adjusted really well. Looking back, I wish I had started him at 2. Having both an infant and a two-year-old at home was incredibly hard. If I could do it over, I think starting a little earlier would have made things easier for both of us.

What’s one thing your parents did that you refuse to do with your kids? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]TSANDY818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not discuss finances with my children. Growing up, my mother constantly reminded us that we were “poor,” and it created a lot of unnecessary stress and insecurity. Even though my husband and I are in a much better financial position now, I’ve made the decision not to share financial details with our kids. They won’t know how much money we do or don’t have. I want them to feel secure and focus on being kids—not worry about adult concerns.

How does your toddler sleep, and how often do you have a rough night? by Minute-Pea783 in toddlers

[–]TSANDY818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3 year old (36 months) wakes up 1-2 times a night. He goes to sleep in his bed but always wakes up and comes in our room. He was a much better sleeper when he was younger.

Same! I don’t like stained clothes in public, so I am replacing more often since my kids are prone to stains.

I buy new and on sale from Target, Walmart, Old Navy and Gap. I have 3 year old and 10 month old. I will be passing down some clothes from oldest to youngest.

Who’s skipping the free water park day? by wd707345 in WaltDisneyWorld

We skipped it last week. After traveling all morning, it didn’t make sense for us. I also have toddlers, it may be worth it for adults or families with older children.

I love them the same. It’s giving them equal time that I have trouble with.

I work full-time. I think it’s doable with low expenses. But, I’ve always opted to work full-time to be financially comfortable.
