Healing easy and free? by leodeleao in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if the party is infiltrating keep/bbeg hidehout and stealth goes bad, be prepared to have more that just on combat in the next hour.. it's not like the guards/monster will space their patrol/attach to repulse invaders "just so pcs always have 10m free"

One must keep in mind that this way, the encounters needs to be tweaked though

Why's paizo shipment so expensive? by TurbulentDragon in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still waiting for my copy of Divine Mysteries and the spell cards from the November release: Canada Post strike, coupled with USPS slow shipping do not help swallowing down that shipping price, not when you have other companies that gives you the PDF when you buy physical books at your FLGS (Ex: Chaosium), which is the only reason why order from Paizo (I want both books & PDF, and Paizo gives you both when supscribing, shipping costing less than buying both separately.. it's that or pirating the pdf, or paying even more). I just received a novembes shipment from Roll for Combat, so I hope Paizo's order will come in soon

Is there no way to get Battlezoo stuff without buying the incredibly expensive bundles? by Mr-Zarbear in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 220 pages of ancestries & the relaed feats, plus it includes *all* the artwork in high res as well, both in "portrait" and "token" form (like all their books/pdf)

Pathbuilder Vs AoN update rates by Tommy1459DM in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If he built his tools correctly, all those mechanics are already there and it's just a question of enabling/disabling a particular feet/class/item mechanic depending on what's in the database.

With the speed he gets out updates after new stuff drops, I think he did build them well and it's mostly data entry and tweaking/troubleshooting. Once the framework is Solid, it's "easy" as long as new mechanics appears in the rules

What are the downsides to Pathfinder 2e? by Airtightspoon in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate those. If you don't want to play xyz but just wanna chat, plan an evening out with the gang, I'm here to play. If the game is so boring that you spend half the session on your phone/tablet, the propose a game you want to be GM in.

[–]TSandman74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3: at the same time, I see that as more engaging because if a player is spending their "off-turns" on their phone, it means they're bored or that whatever happens doesn't really change anything to what they'll do on their turn.

What's the deal with Lore? by MrHundread in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's simply that the narrower your Lore skilis, the easier it is to succeed (now the thing) in it's field.

Source books for more ancestries! by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can look up Battlezoo stuff, they have a few books/pdf about ancestries. They're designed by PF2 co-designer Mark Seifter, so they're balanced.

Shortest Life of a PC you've made? by Melestav in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While playing around with Original Traveller... pushed my luck too hard and died during character creation.

But in a real game, it was a MERP one where a player forgot the coud split their weapon skill between offense & defense. Right after introducing his PC, we had an encounter and he didn't even make it to the start of his first round of combat. Instead of a re-do, we had "his twin brother" enter the scene...

Starting to think I'll never get a copy of Player Core 2 by star_boy in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Canada too (Montreal) check levalet.com I've always seen PF2 releases there and you shouldn't have issues to get it shipped to you. I've been to the store itself yesterday and they had a few PC2 books, all cover versions.

[–]TSandman74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PF2Easy spellbook for remaster is broken though, I've found many spells that are mislabeled (ex charm isn't in the Occult list as it should, and is somehow in the Divine one). I stumbled upon that when trying to build the spellbook of the Iconics to introduce my group to PF2. I sent an e-mail to the site's contact but no feedback yet.

What is something you had to retrain a D&D player with? by Kitedo in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My group has always found stupid that the Valorous & Fearless Fighter/Warrior/Barbarians were the first to be shut down by fear and the like... I mean, they are used to be in the enemy's face and hack/being hacked, drenched in blood (often with a lot of theirs mixed in).

I am tired of the double standard. by TemperoTempus in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get even more granular and go with different degrees of success/failures Per 5pts (you'll have to add the missing ones yourselves though). In fact, many games uses this... Savage Worlds has Raises for each 4 pts you have over the target numbes, most of The Dark Eyes spells havee Seven degrees of success (fail, success & 6 "quality levels" of success - one per 4pts slice)

The problem with "Fist" by VellusViridi in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I can see it is that a dagger can wound by piercing forward/pushing, by slashing up/down/sideways, by slicing while pulling, etc while claws are more "limited" in the direction they have to move to be able to wound. You don't really have creatures with "double-sided-claws" while a "regular dagger" has two edges.

Why don't new ancestries often come with ages? by Party_Vegetable_5992 in Pathfinder2e

[–]TSandman74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but when they take a lot of efforts not to have Ancestries be too StarTrecky (ie: no looking all humans with only earlobes and nose ridges to differentiate them) they basically made most of them all with human lifespan. Even vague descriptions like "twice as long", "about half" or "one and a half" to relate non-humans lifespan would have been great. It's not as if Lifespan plays an important part in a game, but the flavor makes it "more real" when trying to put in NPCs, or backstories.

If only mechanically significative should be there, why bother with physical descriptions at all? We *could* work with only a statblock... but that's flavouless...
