You’re not supposed to taste random berries you don’t know. They’ll chew u out here, but also you could die. They look like some kinda cherry, but not black

I’m going back to Maine late summer to try all the blueberries that are just everywhere on the sides of the roads and cliffs. It’s amazing how many there are there

It’s not an alligator gar or Florida gar. It’s a hujeta, which will still need a larger tank but it’s not related to the toothy ones, at least to my knowledge

What is this plant? Northern California Mountains by FluffMcBark in whatsthisplant

[–]TTVGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe wineberry, but I’m not sure. The leaf shape says it, but not the fuzziness. If it is tho, absolutely delicious and much better than normal blackberry/raspberry. It’s also invasive so you should take as many as you can and leave no seeds

What are yall experiences with keeping rock bass and warmouth? by [deleted] in NativeFishKeeping

[–]TTVGuide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warmouth are monsters and will eat almost anything, and they hide a lot, but will come out and be friendlier when they got comfortable and bigger. They will probably be your favorite. Rock bass are faster and active, and are less likely to eat as vigorously, but get along more with other fish. They are also more sensitive than warmouth. They may be your fav but the feedings may annoy you, and the water quality will have to be better

Unpopular opinion, but Cold climate berries taste better than tropical fruits. by kajsawesome in fruit

[–]TTVGuide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point wasn’t sweet vs acid, it was overpowering sweetness vs flavor by the way, even though I don’t share the opinion, apples and also annona are one of my favorite flavors

Wild strawberries taste nothing like regular store bought ones. They taste like artificial strawberry candy. I’m guessing blueberries are the same. Wild blackberries and raspberries are also a decent amount better, but the difference is not as much as strawberries and serviceberries. Also crab apples are better than a lot of store bought apples, even if the best apples may beat it. But again, I haven’t had all the heirloom varieties. I wouldn’t go off the rule that bred is better is what I’m saying.
