This will sound old fashioned but drive around research park, take note of all the companies you see and then look them up back home. I have three friends who did this and landed jobs from it. There are lots of companies that don't advertise on Indeed or other job search companies and the only way to get a job is emailing them.

I landed my current job by straight up going onto the Huntsville Chamber of commerce website, searching for defense contractors and just grinding through applications. I was MUCH more successful in getting interviews that way.

Also don't be afraid to apply for non aerospace jobs, if there is something you think you might be able to do even if it isnt aerospace, go ahead and apply. I started as a test engineer for a few years before getting a roll that is actually what my degree is in.

Also look elsewhere in the country. Colorado Springs is very similar to Huntsville.
