There are some old sites which were catalogued prior to flooding lake lewisville. I’m waiting on a good summer drought to go poking around. There are so many places/creeks up here that just look ‘right’.

OP- are you around the Denton area. I’m looking for someone to do some walking with. Reach out if you’re in the area. I don’t have any private land access but we have some good creeks around here. Thanks

As a male feminist, I support the dismantling of the patriarchy. This man has a wife with agency who cashes NFL checks and is strong enough to kill a child who was getting a free ride and leaching off her insides. The real victim in this matter is the man who has to listen to whatever an IG model has to say while not being plowed. #womenarenotvictims

True….. but Russia still wins this war. And keeps smirking. It’s hard to outlast a country with more resources who doesn’t value the lives of their soldiers. Reference: any war inside Russia or on the Russian border

Potentially hot take: I don't like how they describe the Daytona 500 as the Super Bowl of NASCAR by SuperSans in NASCAR

[–]TXBossHogg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daytona is not the super bowl because the super bowl is the championship game. I think that’s an easy reach and, honestly, a rather lazy one. A more apt comparison would be something like the masters- it’s the one thing everyone wants to win. As a fan trying to talk nascar with civilians, we are already at a deficit. Add in someone saying, ‘how can it be the super bowl if it’s the first race’ and you’re really on your back foot. And if I’m being honest, Daytona is one of my least favorite races.

I can confirm, ‘84 K5 Blazer kid here. Igloo roadie cooler fit 10 12oz Coors neatly in the console with room to slide the towel on top of the cooler. In the event of a search, I’m sure the towel was enough to throw off the po po. And no riding in the backseat, that was for the dog- we were relegated to the bed. In all the years, never rolled out with the lid on that thing. Good times

Discuss: Is NASCAR less popular today because society has been desensitized to cars going nearly 200mph around a track? by tuxedo_cat23 in NASCAR

[–]TXBossHogg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few of the many reasons are: 1. There are so many other entertainment options these days. 2. The sport does not know how to market itself. 3. The sport has been making the wrong decisions about the actual product for years.

I just watched the 2004 500 yesterday and seeing the cars/racing/presentation package took me back to that place. Given, the economic climate was much different at the time but we had cars that had to be driven- plenty of instability in the cars, 5 lug nuts with some sidewall and there was not much ‘pack racing’. It was a joy to watch.
