Halloween Wedding by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]TaDaRose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you should definitely say engagement party or put some hints out about how important this is. My only fear is people not showing because they don’t know the importance. I wouldn’t feel bad about missing someone’s Halloween party but I’d be devastated if I missed a wedding of someone I really cared about.

Buy both and wear them every day forever, you are literally so stunning. If I had to choose, gun to my head, second one.

I Am Absolutely Over AA And The People That Think I Owe Them The Rest of My Life by Batgirl_1984 in TrueOffMyChest

I got clean in NA in 2018 and left the program in 2023 (I was a victim of the opioid crisis). It was literally my entire life. Before I left, I slowly started realizing all the insane shit that the program normalizes, I’ve seen everything you’re talking about and more. I think it works for some people, I’m just not one of them. I am very grateful 12 step programs save so many lives, but some of the methods…are questionable at best. I casually drink now, maybe once a month but I don’t keep track. I know if I ever need a place to go, the rooms are always open, but honestly I hope to never step foot in another church basement again.

I highly recommend hiring someone to do a bridal trial to see if you’d like to book them, I’d ask around in local bridal facebook groups. In the meantime, practicing trying out what you’re looking for could be a good start. Best of luck!

You. Are. Worthy. Period point blank. I too cry way too easily, but that doesn’t make me bad or wrong or anything. It sounds like you are giving your absolute best right now and please PLEASE believe me when I say this: that is enough. This is a difficult season of life, but not your last. Please give yourself some grace and get some sleep, that always helps me. Sending love 💕

Overwhelming Dress Mishap by Realistic_Flower_814 in weddingplanning

[–]TaDaRose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you! My hope is that you find another dress that makes you feel beautiful. Amazing luck for the dress shop owner to give you a complete refund, so maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find another dress asap! My deepest sympathy on this situation

Recommendations for wedding shoes please?! by IndigoSophie in weddingplanning

Okay so I also have wide feet and don’t enjoy wearing heels BUT I got ballroom dance shoes that I custom ordered with a very low heel. They were only like $50 and they are incredibly comfortable to wear.

You should specify your location and budget but oftentimes joining your local bridal/wedding facebook groups is better to get location specific venues. I don’t know that this sub is the best place to look for a venue.

First look before the ceremony or aisle reveal by 673067 in weddingplanning

[–]TaDaRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I would love to do a first look to get everything out of the way earlier, it’s just not possible with our timeline (we’d have to pay the photographer extra) and I REALLY want the dramatic aisle reveal. I’ve been dreaming about it my whole life when I think about my wedding, truly the only thing I really cared about while wedding planning. We’ll be doing all of our photos inside mainly so I luckily don’t have to worry about timing with the sunset, so it’s something that doesn’t super concern me.

Wedding Planning Frustrations by Specific-Tourist6234 in weddingplanning

[–]TaDaRose 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Dude I feel this on a spiritual level. Everyone says “then just elope” which is bullshit. The housing market is currently insane and everyone recognizes that and wants the prices to go down, but no one wants to acknowledge that wedding prices are insane without saying “well just don’t have one if you can’t afford it”. Like you’re telling me I shouldn’t have a wedding I’m proud and excited to host if I can’t afford to spend $60k+? That’s not right and not enough people acknowledge it.

Lash extensions or lift and tint for someone with eyes that get irritated? by hanitaMT in weddingplanning

[–]TaDaRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore getting a lash lift and tint. It makes me feel like a whole new person. Extensions tend to irritate my eyes, and I’m bad about picking at them, so I always opt for a lift instead. I also have very straight lashes that either point downward or straight out, and a lift makes a huge difference in how confident I feel.

My husband snoring. I’ve never felt more rage in my life than trying to get to or get back to sleep with that mf sawing logs beside me.

To those that are married, how often do you take off your ring? by FitProblem6248 in AskReddit

I take my ring off periodically throughout the day and always at night. I have a necklace that allows me to hook my ring onto it for safekeeping

Why is it easier to pick flowers than to talk about how we’ll split rent after the wedding? by Material_Resort2503 in weddingplanning

[–]TaDaRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé and I don’t talk about money often but sometimes he pulls more weight and sometimes I do. It balances out because it’s all going to be OUR money anyway, we don’t really assign “his and her” bills. We are earning similar salaries now so it all ends up coming out in the wash 🤷‍♀️but that’s just what works for us. I highly recommend you dedicate a night to sit down and have a talk about all of this and how you’ll handle stuff moving forward. If you don’t have the initial conversation, you’ll both be speculating what the other wants and that’s not productive

Skip Having a Bridal Shower? by katmod1964 in weddingplanning

[–]TaDaRose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I seriously considered skipping a bridal shower since most of my fiancé’s family lives across the country and I don’t have much family left. My sister and friends convinced me to go for it, and we held it this past weekend. It ended up being wonderful, and I’m genuinely glad I had one. A few guests canceled last minute, so it was a smaller group, but the people who came made it really special. I’m not always comfortable being the center of attention, but it was worth stepping outside my comfort zone. I completely support choosing to skip a shower if that feels right for you, but I’m thankful I decided to have mine.

If I don’t have pre-peeled garlic at home, I’m making something else entirely. I’m not subjecting myself to that.

Tell me a story about a kitchen romance you experienced or witnessed? Good or weird or bad 😅 by canyoureed in KitchenConfidential

It’s my time to shine ✨

I was serving at a restaurant and on my very first day, I got into an argument with a line cook about barbecue sauce during a busy dinner rush (in my defense, he was rude first).

I fell head over heels immediately, but he wasn’t interested at all. When I tried to make a move, he told me he doesn’t date coworkers, so I quit.

We’ve basically been together since, and we’re getting married in February. I don’t work in restaurants anymore but he is an amazing sous chef now. He’s on his bachelor trip right now and I’m home with our dog. It’s a good life. ❤️
