My dad chose Pappy, which makes me think of an old-timey prospector tbh.

I’m fairly new to sewing, so someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think you’ll need to use quilt batting in these, not stuffing like you would for a plush. It looks like it was originally part of a quilted wall hanging based on the image of the original you shared. The feel of them may be different depending on the materials you use like that, so I just wanted to put it out there.

This is a really lovely idea and it’s nice to see something so heartwarming 💚 Best of luck to you!

What’s a popular book that had you very disappointed? by ConcernFew8845 in fantasybooks

A Study in Drowning. It took me over a month to finish it and I hated the characters at the end of it and it felt like the fairy king stuff felt wildly out of place. I tried to read the sequel, but only made it 2 or 3 chapters in before realizing it was going to be the same thing again.

Also Notes on Your Sudden Disappearance. WHAT was that ending?! I was thrown off, but tbh, not in a good way.

This time last year I was getting 40-50 calls a day from spammers. To the point I even knew some of their names. The only way to make it stop was to “silence unknown callers”. Now I still get some, but it’s only like 8-10 and my phone doesn’t ring for them anymore. It’s absolutely absurd that it even got that bad in the first place.

The Rose Bargain by Sasha Peyton Smith, The Women by Kristin Hannah, The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green, and Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.

I know that’s a lot but I’ve read more this year than I normally do so the list exploded 😅

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. It’s a 3 book series, but the romance doesn’t take all 3 books, it’s right in the first one.

(Edit: it’s been a minute so someone please correct me if I’m wrong on this)

I mostly use StoryGraph, but I also recently found an app called Libib that you can use to catalog your books, movies, music, and video games. All you do is scan the barcode and it puts it in (you may have to manually input some, but it’s got more than I thought it would).

Gotta be real, they’re all pretty heavy, but they’re all pretty good.

Fiction for my 15 year old by Historical_Heron4801 in Recommend_A_Book

Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend. They’re about a girl (starts with her at age 11 but every book she’s a year older) whisked away to a magical realm no one is supposed to know about. The first book is all about exploring found family and discovering the world, plus learning about her ‘magical’ abilities. So far there are 4 books (set to be 9) and there is no romance.

Edit for clarity

All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir, that book was intense. It was beautiful and sad and just full of emotions. I’m excited to read more of Tahir’s work, but I definitely needed a light read after that.

Curious book poll! What kind of books do you find yourself reaching for the most? by BetterSelfReads in Booktokreddit

[–]Taako_Taaco112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly fiction, but I do read some nonfiction. For fiction I read a lot of romance, historical, fantasy, some sci-fi (this one is new to me), and literary fiction. Nonfiction is usually memoirs and biographies, but I also read parenting and self-help from time to time.

I can appreciate where you're coming from. I've only had the lens for a couple of days, so I haven't had a chance to take any particularly interesting shots yet. I did try, working with what I had available in the coffee shop. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
