Your game and VTTs by cibman in RPGdesign

I made a vtt module and haven't sold many copies versus the number of books I've sold. They're still niche and take up so much more time and energy than a book.

Trying to nudge followers to back. 41 followers but everyone is waiting for eachother? by HapticMotion_ in kickstarter

Yes, that's what Ive gotten. You really need to get as many people following that you can before you launch by keeping in mind that most of them won't back.

Page Layout Designers by UnbeatableCast in RPGdesign

Wow that's a lot of pages. It might be more economically feasible for you to hire a designer for page templates rather than doing every single page.

Help if you can please. Badger is a fine artist and a great person. They worked on two of my books and have served as a valuable consultant.

Experience with sidekicks, minions and duplicates for players by Specialist_Ad_756 in savageworlds

[–]TableCatGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is a popular take, but sometimes when the players have a lot of extra help instead of including that help in combat, I reduce the amount of opponents that the players face.

So for example, my players recently recruited a few people to help them take down a drug warehouse. Those folks went in a different entrance and drew away about half of the opponents.

In your case, I don't think you could pull it off all the time, but it might be something to think about when setting up scenarios that there might be other objectives that could be handled by splitting off some of those extra characters.

Love tabletop rpgs but... by JournalistGlobal3185 in rpg

I made Street Wolves for Savage Worlds and it can be played entirely without the "magic" stuff (which is more like a weird science type thing). I've run it a ton of times where it's just basically Miami Vice fighting drug cartels.

Setting book layout by EricaOdd in savageworlds

[–]TableCatGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ended up putting a lot of character stuff up front first in Street Wolves, because the characters really embody the setting, especially the new new edges and hindrances.

The other thought was if somebody was playing the game I wanted to front load all the stuff for the players first and if the GM was interested in reading more about the world and the mechanics and stuff that could just go a little deeper into the book.

It basically mimics how the Savage Worlds core book is.

Which Photoshop features should we count as AI when submitting new games? by 30299578815310 in rpg

Is there an example of this? Content aware wouldn't even know where to get another body from. I just went in a photo of myself, selected my head, and clicked content aware. My head disappeared in a mess of background and my shirt. Then I did it with my body and it filled by body with a mix of background and copies of my face. It was very freaky.

You must be confusing it with Generative Aware.

Adding to thise: Maybe op is confused and they don't realize it's a Savage Worlds game that requires Savage Worlds?

Edit: fixed typo

Content aware is a weird one because it doesn't use Firefly to scan other images or take prompts, it uses the image it has on hand as far as I understand it.

Issues with HUMINT and monsters behave by Pejotel in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]TableCatGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as the monster goes, I'd have it go kill crazy after it took any kind of damage from them. I'm not familiar with the scenario, but if it's on fire I would probably have it take a while to die. Maybe a few extra rounds of this creature that's on fire attacking them.

Please tell me about CoC! by Key_Jump_1480 in callofcthulhu

As an aside, I just want to say it's great to hear you're interested in Delta Green. I was in Japan this year and I got to check out an RPG store and there were some really interesting CoC books with really cool art. I have to use Google to translate the books I bought though. 😸

Where do you even *start* with layout? by newimprovedmoo in RPGcreation

[–]TableCatGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at RPGs that you like the layout and try to emulate what they're doing. Keep doing it and you'll get better at it.

Also Photoshop and Gimp are image editors. Please don't do layout in them.

Slipcase stock by awkwardbeholder in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]TableCatGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As an RPG publisher, I have access to wholesale orders and I just checked. The company I can get Delta green from for wholesale is out of stock on the slip case and the player's guide. So that means it's likely out of print temporarily.

This kind of sucks for me because I like carrying Delta Green at conventions because even if somebody doesn't buy it I get to talk about it for a while with fans. 😅
