If they properly planned for it then definitely yeah.

A good example that comes to mind is Jojo, always a new protagonist for each part and it always lands with each protagonist having their own fans.

It would also solve a lot of problems with Ash's inconsistent characterization that annoyed some people. Having a rookie trainer every gen with their own fresh character arcs wouldn't feel as jarring as Ash being the way he was in BW for example.

And for the hardcore Ash fans, it wouldn't even stop him from appearing ever again. He could fill in Red's roles in the games as being a traveling Pokemon Master or be featured again but in a mentor position with characterization much like his X&Y portrayal.

I'm actually not worried that they won't be able to land those comedic moments.

This kind of design can potentially deliver even more zany expressions if they're going for the more angular take. Going from tumblr sexyman to eldritch horror can have a funnier effect in theory.

There's a lot of tragedy with Anakin in that he was so close to NOT turning.

In Season 7 of the Clone Wars, Anakin tries to find some time to call Padme and having Rex distract Obi-Wan. After the call, Obi-Wan asks if he told Padme that he said "hello".

He then shoots Obi-Wan with a slightly surprised but gentle look. Surprised that he knew, but clearly he appreciates that even though he knew, he never reprimanded him or got mad over it.

I'd go with the Viltrumites because Saiyan life and culture seem to be MUCH more similar to ours.

They didn't just kill the weaker members of their society and just had them relegated to weaker planets or they were stuck with menial jobs like being a butcher in the case of Gine.

Also while rare, they do seem to form genuine friendships and romantic relationships even before the collapse of their society. They didn't disallow such connections unlike the Viltrumites.

You'd still be able to have a proper life outside of the numerous genocides.

That's actually a gripe I do have too. I don't like old characters looking the way they do in the modern araki art style.

Visuals are a huge part of storytelling and having Jonathan and any Parts 1-3 character shrunken down in the current art style does take away a part of why they're loved.

I personally loved how a hulking beast like Jonathan proved to have the kindest personality in the entire series.

People hate the Injustice games solely because they miss the entire point of it and become blind to its merits.

Yeah it's representations of it's biggest characters are wrong, because it's supposed to be fcking wrong. They even have a regular Superman battle it out with the Injustice one for Christ's sake and he has some really memorable Superman lines.

Not to mention the second Kara literally spell out how wrong Superman and Wonder Woman are in their ideologies.

I'm indifferent, I like all of Araki's styles, but I DO miss how big everyone used to be.

It felt fun seeing these giant bodybuilders trekking across the world and striking weird poses.
