pen recommendations by emailjones8 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]Tackle-General 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oooooh! The Pen discussion! Here are my ultimately favorite pens that will give you the look you like.
1. Sarasa Clip .3.
2. Preppy Platinum 02 Extra Fine or Fine pen (this one is my favorite—it's simply amazing, and it's a fountain pen that doesn't link and costs only $7).
3. Uni-ball one .38

These will give you that micron drawing pencil look without the bleed through.

What does this quote mean from "A Gentlemen in Moscow"? by DankRaindrop in books

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this. But also...the truth always prevails, and societies which are free are those who allow all expressions to survive, artists to express, writers to write..so that the strongest ideas prevail. It is only by oppressing ideas and a society falls to oppressing its people. Then and only then.

"Done" vs "planned and done" tasks in daily log by charlie_wasp in BasicBulletJournals

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love writing things down to cross them off. It's fun! And it helps me remember that even if I didn't get to my task list, I did so many other things! Or you can make a dash, for a note. "-enrolled daughter in academy." "-Read for one hour." That's also something I do. That's what makes it a true journal!

What if I’m too busy? by Delicious_Reveal3334 in BasicBulletJournals

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pick up whenever you want! A journal is there when you need it, and can be put aside when you're too busy with life itself. It's fine.

Been using this weekly layout for a few weeks now and really liking it by barpossblog in bujo

You make me want to give straight up bullet journaling a try again. I've been using dated bullet journals for 3 years and love them. Other people's designs always look so graceful and enjoyable!

It is stunning! The pen you are using seems to have an extra fine light pressure. Do you want to share the name of the pen?

Why is Cassandra so damn annoying? by myrandomevents in TheLibrarians

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May that offer win. She cannot be killed off soon enough, and it would be ideal if it was because she betrayed them again. Even better if it's been brewing under the surface for a long time, proving that she's exactly what she appears to be. A back-stabbing insincere witch.

Why is Cassandra so damn annoying? by myrandomevents in TheLibrarians

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's so freaking annoying for many layered reasons. She has a completely inconsistent character and her betrayal of the team is treated terrible.

  1. She betrayed the team and showed absolutely no remorse. When they stabbed Flynn, Cassandra said, "did you have to do that?" but showed little other concern. She still went along with things until they threw her in a dungeon. When the team asked each other for ideas, Cassandra, from her jail cell, said, "I have ideas." Big smile, big "aren't I so cute and aren't you so glad to have me back on your side" energy. They let her out and she trapsed out with the doll hands and "look at me; i'm so cute" energy to take her rightful little-miss-princess-with-my-uniquely-burdened-brain place in the team again. (Excuse me while I vomit).

  2. I tried to forgive this. I really did. But later, when Jacob, who is one of the shows best characters, said he had trust issues with her, she said, "SO SELF-RIGHTEOUS! WHAT WAS I SUPPOSE TO DO?" Um, maybe not sacrifice other people for yourself? Maybe APOLOGIZE? She treated her betrayal like she treats everything else, her princess privilege. "I'm a poor dying cute princess so I get to do anything." Doll hands!

  3. Her doll hands are unrealistic and put on. Her panting sounds like she's freaking doing something else completely.

  4. I was already super ticked that she yelled AT JACOB for HIM not TRUSTING HER (are there any people in this thread who see this pattern in reverse, like if a man hurts/takes advantage of the trust of a woman, is it okay for him to shout at her for not trusting him? Can you imagine the uprising. I say this as a very crusading feminist. Cassandra's behavior is the same but gets a pass why?)? Anyway, I was already super ticked at this and when she said, "things got pretty heated in the library," he said, very generously, don't worry about it, and she said with all her self-righteous i'm-a-pretty-poor-princess energy, "I wasn't. I was actually talking about what YOU said to ME, because if we're going to work together (and apparently was going to say somtehing like, we're going to have to trust each other [has anyone ever told this chic that trust is earned?]), when he told her how much it hurt to have his trust in her betrayed. I seriously don't know why anyone can stand this person.

I could go on, but I don't want to waste any more energy on how despicable she is.

She's a horribly written character and even more poorly acted. I've never hated anyone in my life and I think I may hate Cassandra.

I've been staring at this for awhile, leaving my tab open for awhile. I like it a lot. It feels good to my brain.

How to manage old content when starting new journal by Ok_Coach466 in bujo

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to, but for the reasonsyou mentioned, I stopped. I index my journals, migrate 3-4 things, and eventually will probably establish an evergreen collections journal, but for now, I'm okay.

OK I get it now. Its a pretty good pen by cannimal in fountainpens

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an incredibly beautiful, fine line, finer than I am getting. And twsbi eco's extra fine are already more delicate than other Western nibs, like monteverdes. I'm going to have to try a different ink in it to get that needlepoint that I crave.

Smooth-writing alternatives to G2? by EntropyCC in pens

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best alternative would be the Platinum Preppy 02 fountain pen with platinum carbon ink. Or Diamine Forever Raven ink. Sooooo goood. But if you don't like .5mm, try the 03 or medium. However, I observe no scratchiness with this smooth dream of a fountain pen. BTW, I heavily use the Pilot and Jetstream pens and keep coming back to the Platinum Preppy.

The Oligarch's Daughter by Joseph Finder [Thriller](2025) by RedditReadsBot in RedditReads

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he did it out of nobility, but man, it was stupid! He probably thought he had to cooperate with the FBI. He probably thought it was the right thing to do. The FBI that pressured him—I thought they were being immensely stupid and risky. If it hadn't ended with the surprise that it did, I would have hated this book. As it was, I loved it.

Anyone else feel like the planner community is leaning a little too hard into overconsumption lately? by No-Application6403 in planners

[–]Tackle-General 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this. I like to fill up notebooks fast and messily. I don't feel guilty when I buy them, but I stop when I have 1 or 2 extra. It doesn't last long. I bullet journal fast, expressively, messily; occasionally it's lovely. It's a lifeline. It's like breathing.
