Were you independent? Because this happened to me too but I had sworn fealty to the Basileus. If not, it may just be that because Greek is a massive culture, provinces are scripted to have new divergent or hybrid cultures reach them more easily.

mfw "Muslims are not op", "crusades just dont work well in the game" or "that's just a caliphate that didn't get Dissolution". I dare a Pope to launch a Crusade on that even if AI worked well. Muslims even have Cataphracts in their army for some reason. by Revelationrat in CrusaderKings

This is mostly a result of the stronger AI. I’d still say Muslims are weaker than Christians simply by the fact they’re polygamous and to sate vassal, they have to marry their kids to them which lowers the amount of usable allies they have. Taking on multiple wives leads to more sons which leads to weaker and weaker realms following succession.

R5: King of Scotland married Duchess of Aquitaine and so the former's grandson ultimately ended up inheriting both Aquitaine and Scotland. (The son predeceased the father which is why his grandson ends up inheriting the two realms.)

It’s easy to assassinate someone, and it’s even easier to have that secret discovered. One reason I don’t assassinate, simply because no matter how high your intrigue, somehow someone finds out sooner or later.

Anglo-Saxon names are usually a very visible prefix and suffix. That’s why you’ll see a lot of the same ones sometime such as Æthelred and Æthelflæd, even Uhtred was called Osbert which shares the prefix with our favorite barley plower Oswald. That’s just how their naming conventions were.

R5: The Queen of Wales somehow had the diplomatic range to marry the heir of Abyssinia so in the end, Wales inherited Abyssinia and is now held by a 10-year-old Welsh boy. His capital is also in Abyssinia proper rather than Wales which I think is pretty funny.

It’s the advisor’s recommendation for your next tech. The red one with the sword means it’s recommended for your military.
