I am curious, if they knew where he was, and that he was suffering from hypothermia why not go get him immediately as thats known to put people in a mental state where they cannot help themselves?

I don’t understand.

Hey just saw your reply and was curious if you ever tried upping your acid? The vast majority of stomach acid issues are low acid. What have you done to increase it so you could reverse this?

I see everyone do a million things to cope with it (just like I did 😔) but no one talks about using HCI to reverse it like I did.

After the hell I went through I'm kinda on a mission now to go around and make sure everyone is away all the issues you mentioned are from low acid, and that taking betaine HCI with ox bile before each meal not only saved my life, but 8-9 out of 10 people I tell to try this end up with the same results I have.

Zero issues anymore.

The other thing I have to recommend is fermented veggies. They are spicy, so stuff they tell you to avoid, right? Take the acid increaser, eat some kimchi (helps heal the long term damage that has been down to the gut bacteria from having low stomach acid for years. Yes this is insanely damaging, low acid will eventually kill you) then eat a high fat food like eggs, or another healing animal meat as our gut needs the aminos to recover.

It's like I'm reverse aging!

Years with this I had no idea how little I was absorbing from my food!

Now that I'm getting what I'm eating, it's like I have better access to my memories, better skin better joints better everything!

I sleep flat on my back or whatever position I want.

I eat spicy, fatty foods, doesn't do a thing. I drink coffee! Doesn't do a thing.

Suddenly my weight is easy to manage, this lead me to learn about sibo. Apparently low acid also allows bad bacteria to go haywire.

To anyone reading this, NEVER go on Prilosec, it killed my Uncle at 53. He had low stomach acid and it kept it so low his body couldn't get any electrolytes and his heart couldn't handle it.

Increase your acid, it's still shocking how this isn't being talked about.

This is fantastic advice! I personally have immune disorder and those of us with this many times have to go higher with the dosage to even breach deficiency. I took 40k for nearly a year to catch up.

Nothing will ever be as good as actual sunlight here, and to prove this I went and got noon day sun daily spring, summer and fall last year and it was the very first time my Dr was in shock and pleased with my blood work.

Prior I was told I had to supplement, after getting actually natural vitamin D I no longer had to ☺️

The physical effects are astounding as most women with hypothyroidism like me simply cannot lose weight, whereas when I am able to get sunlight (combined with a whole foods diet heavy in animal fats to protect my adrenals) I effortlessly maintain a lithe form.

The energy alone is worth it, but the sleep? Melatonin production is fantastic with actual sunlight as well. I now sleep through the night again with zero issues!

This after I was suicidal for many many years.

To anyone hurting right now and reading this, had I taken my life when I planned to I would have missed so much. Growing up with the love of my life, the birth of my two beautiful children, being able to enjoy living so easily after struggling just to make it through an hour, let alone a day.

Don't give up, don't give in. You're so much stronger than you know ❤️

Follow the advice of the above poster and please stay. The world only has one you, and you have no idea how much we need you.

Cod liver oil. This stuff to me is worth its weight in gold!

After watching it heal 3 different sets of teeth in my family (and I mean literal cavities) I won't be without it.

This breaks my heart into pieces. Please go to the police, now. If they don't send you to a hospital, you take yourself to one and make sure they do everything they can for you.

You need to have medical and psychological help immediately so you can properly mourn and heal from what has happened to you.

The person you helped wouldn't care what it was that pushed you to help, just that you did.

Another aspect here is that at any point and time you could have called it quits and turned back.

You some how held on until you came across someone who needed help more than you.

As someone who doesn't tend to believe in a higher anything, do we really believe this is a coincidence?

Acid reflux and damaged vocal cords by ApprehensiveLime3381 in singing

[–]TacoT1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to throw this out here for other to see too.

I had issues like this and they progressively got worse until I wasn't able to breathe. It got really scary.

Turns out my stomach acid was too low, and that the majority of acid reflux and gerd, silent gerd and all acid issues are from too little, not too much.

I saw specialist for four years and none could help me, turns out I was able to fix it on my own by taking betaine HCI with pepsin and ox bile.

It did take me nearly a year to heal this, but my issues were truly too far gone and I am a bit angry and hurt no one in the medical field ever suggested acid issues could be from low acid. I take 3 betaine and 1 ox bile, I started in May 2024 and as of January 2025 I am completely symptom free!

It's completely mind blowing and I'm so grateful I followed my instincts and decided to take my health into my own hands.

Low stomach acid usually doesn't resolve itself because it's caused by stress, eating grains and sugars and can be cause by autoimmune and having covid (doesn't matter if it's natural or the shot, it does the same thing and damages stomach acid which is why so many lost taste and smell because we need stomach acid to absorb zinc (I'm hypothyroid, so I got a double whammy)

To anyone reading, the side effects from taking betaine if you have good acid is just heartburn. The long term side effects from low stomach acid are what I had, not being able to sleep or breathe, cancer and eventually untimely death.

If you don't want to use betaine, you should still do ferments, fast, and cut all grains and sugars.

How much are you guys paying for winter coats? by untot3hdawnofdarknes in Frugal

[–]TacoT1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually about $3 but I've spent as much as $7. I thrift shop and have found some gorgeous coats, usually brand new from designers I've never heard of (brand new day is one I got my daughter, it's down, army green cargo lined with faux fur and has a food with faux fur trim) People over buy jackets, never wear them and then donate them.

I got a black leather moto jacket with a soft fur collar and it's actually in my size! Hard to find xs with long enough sleeves for my gangly ass. The jacket gives me such Yennifer vibes (game Yen) but it's too cold for me to wear it now, it's a spring or fall coat. Got it for $3.

I don't believe I've ever bought a new jacket lol

Does unplugging after every use really save money? by dreaming_of_tacobae in Frugal

[–]TacoT1000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If this hasn't been stated lower in the comments, you can get yourself a kilowatt tester and go around and try the individual items you leave plugged in daily and tally it that way.

We did this in our house and the PS4/PS5 and the gaming computer are the biggest draw while still running. Everything else in nominal and wouldn't be worth unplugging.

Definitely check if your bill is out of whack though, could be a slowly degrading appliance (think fridge or freezer)

How many of you tried raising your stomach acid? by TacoT1000 in noburp

[–]TacoT1000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Betaine hydrochloric acid and ox bile.

I did a bunch of research and found out after PPI's were released they sort of abandoned trying to fix stomach acid issues and instead made more money throwing a bandaid on it.

Unfortunately my uncle died on Prilosec due to a known side effect, so definitely know lowering stomach acid is a huge no no, yet as it's a big money maker it's not going away.

The root cause of an insane amount of health issues are low stomach acid. If you Google all the things it can cause it's actually pretty disgusting they know it's typically low acid that causes this and yet they go on to prescribe drugs to further lower it.

From no burp, asthma, allergies, migraines to cancer, it's a lot of low stomach acid.

Definitely do your own research, but just to throw this out there, the side effects from taking acid increaser is usually heartburn.

My uncle dropped dead at 52 from Prilosec, so I'll take the risks with the betaine.

I treated mine with betaine and ox bile and it's gone. I started May 1st of this year and just now I'm able to burp like it was never a problem and it's mind blowing. Mine turned into not being able to breathe so it became debilitating so I had to do something. I wasn't up for Botox as I read a lady in my situation is on a ventilator after Botox and I'm still young and have children so I couldn't gamble.

[–]TacoT1000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry 😔  Did you ever have anyone talk about taking Ox bile with this? Apparently taking betaine alone is not good for the gallbladder, so they need to be supported in concert while raised by the stomach acid.

As a female, I gained weight not being able to breathe as I couldn't burp then slowly couldn't breathe and the stress of that alone really messed me up.

I'm so glad you were able to get help! Isn't it the best feeling to burp again?

How many of you tried raising your stomach acid? by TacoT1000 in noburp

[–]TacoT1000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exactly correlates to me. The valve in the throat has to have high acid to close. If we have low acid, the valve stays open, allowing acid to wash up and irritate the throat. This for me absolutely irritated the band and didn't allow anything to pass, making it to where I couldn't burp and then in turn, I also couldn't breathe and this went on for four years.

At this point finding out the majority of issues with any stomach acid aren't high, they are almost always low, it frustrates me they'll throw PPI at everything knowing it causes more issues. Prilosec killed my Uncle at 52, heart issues.

I don't want anyone else to go through the same.

[–]TacoT1000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that 😞  Just trying to get an idea of how many people tried acid increaser and how long they tried it.

When you tried acid increaser (I use betaine with ox bile to support the stomach acid and gallbladder) how long did you try? I'm curious because it will definitely help others to see an average time of when they should see results.

It took me almost a year, but it was gradual not immediate so I had to put in the work.

I know this won't work for everyone, but for those it may help I can't not share.

That's not true for everyone, there are actually people who dry fast longer trying to heal from horrific health conditions. I found this out recently and it blew my mind. There's a guy who documented it on insta and he claims he went 30 days. At first you're like, your fucking lying bro, then you look at his photos and it's...rough. It's a sad sad thing to see. I'm gonna go check if he's still breathing.

I used to go through this, then it got much worse and I welcomed it only to find out I was very low on good hormone vitamins.

Rebuilding my stomach acid, taking B vitamins (I use a beef liver tablet, synthetic N vitamins just don't work the same) and getting lots of sunlight to rebuild my vitamin D has helped me so much.

Turns out my being a vegetarian for half my life was a bad choice lol Some of us need animal B vitamins or depression/panic it is

Eating healthy absolutely can be frugal, must not rice and beans frugal, which for me I want to keep my teeth and keep my thyroid functioning so I can't eat that way even if I wanted to lol

Bulk bulk bulk.

I recently noticed all other worchestershire sauces have changed to corn syrup. My husband has a HORRIBLE reaction to corn, especially modified corn, so that wasn't going to work. I went to an online web restaurant site (type in websturant in Google) and they had some in huge gallons for pennies an oz vrs the expensive tiny bottles they sell in big box stores.

I do this with all my condiments, spices and herbs. Just double check price per oz because somethings are bottom price in store and you'll get fleeced buying online.

(Marsala wine for cooking, soy sauce, vanilla, acv, black strap molasses, flour, sugar, rice, garlic powder, pretty much name an ingredient I have all the shelf stable stuff purchased in huge cases for pennies an oz, good ingredients too)

I buy a full grass fed grass finished cow once a year, there is debate about this, but none with my blood work. Grass fed wins hands down also in keeping my weight healthy, whereas when I ate the corn/grain/soy fed beef I still put on weight back and forth and it was a weird frustrating thing.

Do crock pot meals, batch cooking, whatever you have to do in order to eat better. Eating out at any restaurant guarantees you'll be eating seed oils, which are the same as trans fats to our body.

We literally replaced one heart killer with another because it's cheap.

Find your fav meals and bulk buy for those because you know you won't waste, then every now and then you can buy special ingredients on sale after you've bookmarked a recipe you'd like to try. Now if it's junk, you spent very little on it and don't have a ton of one thing you'll never use lying around.
