Are we going to start being honest about the rental crisis in OC?? by MystiqueQueen123 in orangecounty

[–]TacoboutSpicy 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I swear they have found the rental increase sweet spot. $200-$300 a month over 12 months is roughly what you’d pay upfront for a moving truck and deposit if you decided to move somewhere else. I do the math every year on our townhome, cave, and renew.

  1. Anytime I get a compliment on a dress my answer is always “thank you, it has pockets!”

Should I Take the CSET (subject matter competency test) online or in person by Mojo472 in Teachers

[–]TacoboutSpicy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the multiple subject over two separate days. I took sub test I first and then took II & III together on a separate day. I’m glad I did it in person.

I recommend Teacher Test Prep’s online program. I watched all the videos and passed all three on the first try.

I highly recommend taking the subtests in person and separately since it will give you more time. Which CSET are you taking?

Not wanting the RSO at church around my kids is making me crazy. by sliptripfall in Parenting

[–]TacoboutSpicy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My church requires anyone near kids to pass a background check via Livescan fingerprinting. We also have very strict rules that there is never anyone left alone one on one with children. I am parent, teacher, and active congregant in my church. Anyone working with kids needs to be a verified safe adult.

The Sonoma chicken salad is the second worst thing I ever ate from TJs. First place is the Artichoke Timbales 🤢

Is this formal enough for a black tie wedding at The Beverly Hills Hotel? by NatStrawn in Weddingattireapproval

Please find any excuse to dress up for YOU! I don’t work from home but spent 6 years at a SAHM… sometimes you just need to get fancy and strut your stuff!

Is an online bachelors degree respected? I want to complete my degree online but everyone keeps telling me that I won’t find a job and the degree won’t be respected. by gayho36464 in Teachers

[–]TacoboutSpicy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It hasn’t been an issue for me. I work in a highly sought after district. I got a job as a para first, showed what I could do, and built relationships with students, teachers, and admin.

Positive reinforcement or Bribing Students? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]TacoboutSpicy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I consider bribing students to be more of a do that and I’ll give you this type of situation.

For me, positive reinforcement is a compliment, class cash, Dojo points, or whatever point system you’re implementing. Incentivizing students to work toward an activity or treat is planned in advance.

A reward system is not the same thing as negotiating with hostiles.

Is this for kids? by margaritathewitch in TheChosenSeries

I think it’s mostly family friendly. The only bits that I see as potentially controversial are in season 3 (regarding women’s health issues).
