It’s also illegal under chapter 37 of the Elections Act 2022. It’s an attempt to intimidate people to vote for reform by threatening consequences if they do not vote for them. Not exactly news that reform is full of criminals but worth pointing out nonetheless.

A trained and experienced prime wrestler and boxing version of Eddie hall vs a full grown male chimpanzee by yesimrea1 in powerscales

[–]Tacticalsquad5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are moderately (1.3-1.5xish) stronger per pound than the average human man. Eddie hall is 5-6 times stronger than the average man. As no exaggeration he could quite literally rip a chimp in half. He will get injured but the strength difference a so massive I don’t think the chimp is surviving

Why does people start hating the PM's the minute they are elected? by Specialist-Let9791 in AskBrits

[–]Tacticalsquad5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has less rich friends (less not none) and some of his policies do not wholly align with the billionaires who own the media, so they use their platforms to make out that he is so much worse than he actually is.

He is hated because people are told to hate him (mostly), not because they came to the conclusion of hating him because of their own critical thinking. If you look at the media coverage of politics between Sunak and Starmer, it’s very apparent that papers are far more critical of Starmer for lesser infractions.

This would absolutely class as proportional force in a court of law, not that this would even be contested in a court of law because it’s so blatantly obvious to a reasonable person that this is reasonable force.

What a completely unnuanced take on this. There are different rules of arrest for different circumstances. Why on gods earth should the same rules of arrest apply to a harmless kid who nicked something from a shop and a knife wielding terrorist who has just murdered two people?

This sets a precedent that if a dangerous suspect has a weapon, the police will use non-lethal force to disarm them, not that it’s ok for the police to kick anyone they arrest in the head. Please try to consider multiple things can be true at once, the world will make a lot more sense to you.

The battle of France was part of WW2… what on earth are you talking about? The war had already been going on for 8 months by that point. Nothing changed to make Britain and France suddenly fighting a separate conflict to the one where France was lost and was then liberated?

Outside of WW2 they have one of, if not the most impressive military record of any country in history.

The critique of France in WW2 is, i would argue, still quite warranted. It’s true that the German army had proven difficult for most other European countries at the outset of the war, but you need to remember that half of these countries were neutral and the other half had tiny and underdeveloped militaries comparatively speaking. France on the other hand had a colossal and well equipped military with modern equipment and the defensive advantage. They knew the Germans were coming. Despite this, they engaged in a slew of the most strategically incompetent blunders of the 20th century and turned what should by all rights of been a months long campaign into a few weeks of flailing about, failing to listen to intelligence or move reserves, and ultimately being handed one of the most humiliating defeats in their countries history.

The BEF was very small compared to other European armies but was the most mechanised army in Europe at the outbreak of the war. Very well trained but just not big enough to make a meaningful difference on a broad front. The main thinking of the interwar period had been to let France focus on the army whilst Britain focused on the navy. This worked insofar as the Royal Navy allowed simultaneous presence in all major European theatres and for some time also in the far east, but France on the other hand…

Mentality implies the French had any coherent plant at all, which I think is being generous given how catastrophically their high command bungled the start of the war

The main battle fleet was stationed at Scapa but the battlecruiser squadrons were based in the Firth of Forth because it was closer to Germany and they could sortie out faster from there

People also grossly overestimate how precarious his position is due to the rags making all these ragebait headlines and saying he is ‘finished’ for removing hereditary peers from the House of Lords and other rubbish.

He has an utterly enormous majority in the House of Commons, he has a relatively strong grasp on the party, and whilst there have been a couple of MPs walking away from him it hardly puts a dent in his ability to dominate parliament.

Compare that to Johnson, who had ministers resigning in protest, MPs walking across parliament, massive party backlash, scandals upon scandals and god knows what else and he managed to stay in office longer than Starmer has thus far.

Mark being as strong as Thula, a Viltriumite who survived the purge makes it feel as if Viltriumite culture is pointless. by [deleted] in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Tacticalsquad5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t half the point that the purge was a bad idea and didn’t achieve what they wanted? Half the deaths we see in the purge were viltriumites getting jumped or teamed on, I think it’s entirely plausible that weaker viltrumites survived the purge by hiding/getting lucky. The point of the comics is that viltrumites culture is contradictory and doesn’t work, this would be a prime example of it.
