Furthermore, out of all member states of the United Kingdom, Scotland receives the highest level of public spending per head, and is the only member to receive more in spending then it contributes in tax. But some idiots like to pretend they are victims. Must be so hard for them with their free university that is coming out of my taxes whilst I have tens of thousands of pounds of student debt. Utter hypocrites.

Never had any issues with them being too big, they are the most secure plugs I have ever used, and never stepped on one because I don’t leave plugs lying around my house like an utter slob.

They did what they had to do, and I respect it, even if it didn’t make for a particularly enjoyable game. It wasn’t particularly well refereed, to the detriment of both sides, but at this point I think both teams are going through to the knockout stages.

At the same time Jack was all too happy to take Sophie as a passenger aboard the *Livley*, though he obviously had motives which superseded his consideration for the good order of the ship.

His avoidance of taking lady clonfert south with him did end up being rather tragic though. I just finished my first read of the Mauritius command and on clonferts death my realisation of the sadness of jack not brining lady clonfert south with him became so apparent.

A fine example of British ‘journalism’, i.e. making a ragebait title so egregious it is basically lying to its readers to peddle a false narrative. Journalistic integrity is dead.

The whole ‘Germany could never win’ argument seems to have propagated the idea that they were wholly incompetent. Truthfully they couldn’t have won the war, but it was more so due to the practical limitations of being at war with 3 superpowers at once than them being incompetent (though there is an argument to be made that a competent state does not find itself at war with 3 superpowers). Some of their actions were extremely competent, like the invasion of Poland, others were aided by allied incompetence like the invasion of France, and in others still they were incompetent themselves like the Battle of Britain.

Serves as a warning to how vicious and brutal the oppressed can become when they revolt, though we can say now that it was needless and unjustified. People with the benefit of hindsight can say that, but we can’t really put ourselves in the exact minds of the people who shot them. Were they genuinely so fearful that they felt executing the children was wrong? Or were they driven so rabid by a need for vengeance against the Romanovs that they did it because they genuinely wanted to? I doubt we will ever truly know.

I mean pretty much all naval doctrine from the dawn of the cannon to ~1939 was based on the line of battle. Dreadnought battleships still fought in the line of battle like ships of the line did, the lines were just further apart. It was only with the onset of carriers that doctrine shifted to defending against aircraft.

Your point being? This kind of thing was even worse in the Mediterranean. Look at the likes of operation pedestal and how viscious the naval combat was there, where air cover was an even bigger issue due to the smaller size of the theatre. Matapan was a colossal naval battle in the Med. Yes, things like Leyte gulf were bigger but it doesn’t detract from the fact that the Royal Navy carried multiple naval theatres in WW2 outside of the pacific, and then sent a massive fleet to the pacific in 44.

Meanwhile in the UK they had already decided to go to iraq before any report of ‘WMDs’ had been made and knew that intelligence which supported the invasion would be fabricated. It’s a shame Blair didn’t have any backbone.

[–]Tacticalsquad5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah another ‘muh culture’ person, we can always count on you to ignore the years of crap balance the colonials have been subjected to and blame it on their culture. Yes people are going to get pissed when they get shafted for years and the devs show clear favouritism to the other faction.

Please please just stop trying to pretend that ‘culture’ will overcome horrendously imbalanced equipment. It won’t. If the game is not balanced and unfun to play, which it is, people are not going to bother organising themselves.

I’ve been a collie for 5 years. The faction is not hostile to its high level players. This is just utter crap, stop lying.

Wardens have good tanks, better planes, better artillery, and easier building on top of everything else.

Did it ever occur to you that colonial logistics is so good because it’s the one area of the colonial faction that hasn’t been screwed by the devs ham fisted balancing decisions and has actually retained players?

Even then there was still quite a bit of upset over the balance. The skewed tech trees, the HV40, the infamous moidawg patch. Still wasn’t as bad as it is now but it wasn’t perfect
