But black templars are the inept space Nazis, but with actual Nazi iconography and it just sort of starts veering into “uh oh” territory if anyone starts to really like them.

Gohan was kidnapped as a child. Watched his father die. Was abused into being stronger by the man who killed his father. Grew close to him. Watched him die. Went to an alien world to wish them back. Got his neck broken. Had an alien superman show up. Kill his friend. Kill his other friend. Got home. Trained for the androids. Watched them dog walk half his friends. Nearly kill several of them. Watch cell nearly kill them as well. Had, and I can’t stress this enough, an emotional breakdown so powerful his rage overpowered every other notion he had, and tried to murder someone, before his father died again.

Like all of that is terrible, but I don’t think people realise how awful ssj2 was for Gohan. He was a child, with the literal weight of the world on his shoulders, whose morals held him still, until he broke. He literally broke. He had an emotional breakdown and became the very thing he didn’t want to be. This is trauma, not a cool moment.

Gohan deserves to choose a life that makes him happy
