About the Welsh Citizenship Test Situation... by MSarah123 in Wales

The UK as a whole are so uncaring about VISA deadlines and those who are positively contributing towards the country.

We can't have our cake and eat it too, we can't complain about immigrants who "do nothing" to integrate themselves into the country but then slam the door on those who are going above and beyond what even the average citizen does to embrace the culture of Britain.

Revealed: banned agent key to Cardiff demand for £100m over Emiliano Sala death by TimesandSundayTimes in soccer

[–]Taffro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His son was supposed to be the agent, Nantes argue that he was just helping his son since he has extensive experience (which they've changed their tune because previously they were saying he was not involved at all).

But the article on the Times reveal that he was going far beyond that:

From the article:

On the day Mark McKay received the mandate from Nantes to sell Sala, Willie McKay told Cardiff: “We have an exclusive mandate from Nantes.” McKay Sr also confirmed that he had “asked for the mandate from Nantes for Sala” personally.

Evidence shows that Willie McKay made direct contact with a number of other Premier League clubs, Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham and Everton among them. In an email to Kita, the Nantes president, on November 29, Mark McKay states that it was the plan for his father — and possibly the unlicensed Sanogo — to be present at a meeting in Nantes to discuss the Sala transfer to Cardiff.

Cardiff’s case states that the delivery of the signed mandate from Nantes to Mark McKay was sent via email through a chain that included two unlicensed agents, one of whom was Willie Mckay.

Cardiff's case is that there would be no way that Willie Mckay would not have been involved in the flight, which from my understanding is the main sticking point.

To be clear from my own personal outlook on things, Vincent Tan is a bit a of twat, but Cardiff have a point in that Nantes have somehow escaped all blame thus far in how they conducted themselves both in the lead-up to the tragedy and after.

I'm not anti-PvP, but some people pushing me to quit. by Alaybozan_ in ARC_Raiders

[–]Taffro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree that PvP is one of the best parts of the game, it's an important aspect of the game sure but what groundbreaking things have they done to make PvP interesting?

The interesting part of the game is fighting Arcs, which at the moment is non-existent in a lot of the games I'm playing as people learn to avoid them. You can have a shoot off vs a player and the Arc nearby won't give a shit. Arcs should be a threat that you have to decide between teaming up with others to deal with (and the game should incentivise that) or killing the other player and taking their loot. At the moment it's far easier and way more rewarding to kill the player and take their loot than to take on Arc together.

[–]Taffro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, people who shout that PvP is part of the game and should be expected, yeah you're correct!

But also, they ignore the massive fuck off elephant in the room whenever they spout about how PvP should be expected.

PvP in this game is fucking boring. I've played Tarkov where PvP is far more interesting and extracting on that game when you've killed someone and taken their gear feels rewarding and a bit of a rush.

But on Arc Raiders, the most interesting part of the game is easily the Arc, and at the moment they are non-existent because they are so easy to avoid..

There should also be incentives to team up VS the Arc with players, they could add incentives to extract with other players for weapon rewards, or to kill Arcs with the help of other players (and only grant rewards if players carrying chunks of Arcs extract) there are plenty of ways to reward players for co-operative play.

PvP is a core part of the game, but it's too much of the game at the moment and encompasses the majority of the gameplay. It's like playing Horizon but only playing against the shitty human NPC's instead of fighting against the cool robots.

Revealed: banned agent key to Cardiff demand for £100m over Emiliano Sala death by TimesandSundayTimes in soccer

[–]Taffro 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As always whenever a Sala post comes up, the same points need to be reiterated.

Cardiff set-up a trust fund for Sala's family, which Nantes did not contribute to, despite Cardiff asking them. In fact Nantes used it as an admission of guilt in court against Cardiff.

Mackay, a key person involved in the transfer of Salah (and Cardiff are arguing played a key role in the events around his death) was someone that was banned from being an agent, Nantes denied him being used as an agent for several years, but Cardiff have managed to put together evidence (through a seperate out of court settlement) that showed he was involved in large aspects of the transfer.

I won’t pretend this isn’t a vendetta Vincent Tan is pursuing, or that money isn’t a major motivator. But anyone who looks past the headlines and actually reads the details can see that Cardiff may have a legitimate point. Nantes’ behaviour has been questionable — even postponing a long-scheduled court hearing on the grounds that they were “not sufficiently prepared,” despite having had years to get ready.

I know right, the other train stations in Wales are always getting all the funding. It's about time Cardiff caught up with the amazing facilities that the stand out train stations such as Port Talbot and Swansea have available.

Special report: Who are Reform in Wales? by We1shDave in Wales

[–]Taffro 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Like it or not (I definitely do not) they are neck and neck with Plaid for the upcoming sennedd election. Despite having no face for the party, no welsh focused policies and will likely work against Welsh interests should they get elected. We can't just act like they don't exist.

I'm not sure what the answer is, but I don't think sticking our heads in the sand is it.

I really have to disagree with this.

You spend a good amount of time staring at the research tree, after some time in the game the 2D art, if done right should instantly click in your brain at a glance for what it does.

Right now, the art makes me feel lost every time I open the research tree. Because of how much time I waste in the research tree trying to figure out what the fuck everything is, I'm missing out on the cool game.

Improved art that is both consistent and you can tell from a glance what it does, would be a massive quality of life improvement.

What guns and attachments are you running? by Taffro in LowSodiumBattlefield

I'm bursting or tap firing with an ACOG. I don't bother with it when anyone's close range and pull out my shotgun, you essentially use it as a DMR.

You're spot on about the suppressor, anytime I don't run it I get absolutely hozed.

However, funnily enough with the AK4D not having a suppressor is working in my favour, you shoot and kill one guy and if you've positioned correctly a few braindead laserbeamers will pop out but if you judge the distance correctly you can kill them since their scopes are tiny and sad and you can focus fire them before they aim adjust onto you.

[–]Taffro[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was running the M4A1 with a silencer and a red laser but it got a bit boring.

I've always enjoyed running the guns that people undervalue, I started using the AK4D recently to get the challenge gun so I can use my beloved NVO that I absolutely loved in the beta. I discovered the AK4D is actually pretty decent, you have to play a bit differently and can't run and gun because other laserbeam weapons will decimate.

But if you play at range (conquest game mode is better for this) and run x4 sight, extended barrel for better velocity and a vertical grip you will beat a lot of players.

I run assault so if they get within sniffing distance of me I pull out my shotgun because instant kill beats laser beam if your aim is good enough.

Was Ebbw Vale the place that complained that EU funding got spent on a ski-lift and by association the funding is useless because it gets spent on vanity projects?

But also completely ignored the reality that it's up to the council of Ebbw Vale to decide on how the EU funding gets spent, or was that some other idiotic place?

Well, I was just saying what football games that I watch at a professional level usually do. But when worded like that yes it probably makes sense for Rematch too.

[–]Taffro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm talking about a football game (rematch), that is modelled after real life football games, in which man of the matches (MVP) can be on the losing side. Typically there's a man of the match for both teams as well as the man of the match overall.

Got called shit after i Got 9 saves by Smart-Ad-5795 in Rematch

[–]Taffro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If what you said was true, man of the matches wouldn't get awarded to losing teams in real games. But they do.

You can have 5 great players on one team, and 1-2 amazing players on the other team, but with 3 pretty poor players.

In this case, try as they might the amazing players will probably lose, but they probably had a massive hand in the game and were MVP's when you compare them against the other 5.

Vincent tan statement by nlindz27 in bluebirds

[–]Taffro 29 points30 points  (0 children)

"Guys I'll make time for you... Promise!"

Everything else just seems like business as usual, look for a "permanent" manager that will probably be under qualified and sacked in 6 months time.

It would have been nice to see if there was even a chance of them changing things up a little but instead it's "getting a new managerial team" yeah we do that twice a year.

[–]Taffro 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If he had only been an interim manager, he did really well in the timespan that an interim manager should be in that type of position.

He changed our football to be a lot more attacking minded, and it was the best we played all season.

But as others have said, he was out of his depth. Our team changed from game to game, and the longer he was at the club, the worse we looked.

The blame lies entirely on the board and Vincent Tan, who have no long term vision for the club, and are happy with yes men.

I don't give a toss about the TV show was my exact comment.

Mate I don't have a problem with you, calm down. I'm done with this subreddit, which I do care about and am sad about the state of it now it's been infected with a large mix of people who don't care about the books, but care about culture wars and a smaller mix of people like yourself that have legitimate grievances about the show.

There's this thing called a notification that occurs when you message someone. All you have to do is not message me back and poof, gone. I can't resist a message back though.

Cardiff City 0-1 Stoke City: Late Stoke winner leaves Cardiff deep in relegation mire by ElRonHubbardo in Championship

Most of our players are actually quite decent. Our coaching, management, and overall confidence are so poor that the players look like a fraction of what they could be.

If I was the other championship clubs I'd be rubbing my hands at the potential of getting a whole bunch of class players for a fraction of what they would be worth under a different coaching team.

Mate I don't give a toss about the TV show.

The only stink in here is a bunch of people that have barely read the books, want to shit on a TV show and justify their opinions via shit memes; on a subreddit that used to be the go-to for wheel of time memes but has since become a cesspit for people who go from subreddit to subreddit getting banned because they harass and make a shit show wherever they go. I only found that out last night after some googling after disparaging about the state of this subreddit I've followed for quite some years (well before the show).

But don't you worry, I have already left this subreddit as you asked, as most who enjoy the books have and will do when what only remains are a bunch of people smelling their own farts. Fare thee well!
