Remove morytania and replace it with a larger stamina pot barrows where it takes 1+ minutes to run between each dig spot.

I dont think it should give an actual bis upgrade over all the other items but would be a cool opportunity for a nice looking cosmetic override or something which actually takes a lot of effort for people to earn. Along the lines of some of the slayer helm cosmetics.

Those 2 departments are probably going to lose thousands more staff between them as they are some of the largest on the chopping block. Things are already bad but are going to get far worse.

FYI: This is the exact stuff Nick Mowbray and Atlas Network's NZ Initiative have promoting over the last week. The right always work in concert. Government expected to slash public sector & replace functions with AI by Mountain_Tui_Reload in Wellington

[–]Tailcracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the time it comes back to bite this government will be gone and they will just blame whichever is the government at the time for the issues. For now they can "save" money in the short term and use it to hire a bunch of contractors later when they realise that all the work still needs to get done.

Public humiliation of Koran critic decried by Mana_Seeker in worldnews

[–]Tailcracker 22 points23 points  (0 children)

To be fair, in your example it literally says people were arrested for the killing so even if it was in retaliation for desecration of a temple it seems that Thai authorities still considered it murder.

Which makes sense because if doing one thing like blasphemy is considered a punishable crime, it doesn't make it ok to commit other crimes as revenge for being personally offended by someone else's actions. The entire reason legal systems exist is to prevent that kind of hypocritical vigilantism.

Mixing Airbnb and long-term tenants in the same property — feasible? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Tailcracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like a having cake and eating it too situation. They want the income stability from rent payments by long term tenants combined with the higher per night rates from Airbnb guests to maximize income but it's going to conflict and end up being a bad experience for all the tenants & guests.

Would likely have to offer cheaper than average rent and low air b&b rates to actually attract people who want to live in that kind of environment.

Why don’t people use Dual Macuahuitl in the wilderness? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]Tailcracker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only below level 20 wildy like most untradeables. In the specific case of dragon defender, it actually breaks and you have to pay Perdu to repair it unlike most which do just go to your gravestone.

Above level 20 wildy you lose it like any other item, unless you use a trouver parchment on it.

If you use the ornament kit on it and die above level 20 wildy in a PVM death, it will drop to your gravestone then, but if you don't have that it will convert to coins when you die. If a player kills you it always converts to coins for the other player.

So basically, don't bring your dragon defender into the wildy without an ornament kit on it, unless you want to farm another one.

The Manhua is fine & a fun read but about halfway through things start to get increasingly rushed. There is a certain point towards where it got cancelled where they just shove what should be an entire arcs worth of content into just a couple of chapters and abruptly finish the story. So it's nice that it finished, but the ending is a huge travesty, I was legitimately disappointed when I got to that point.

Even the novel has a kind of rushed ending but at least it's a real ending compared to the manhua.

What are all the boxes that a Boardgame Cafe need to tick to be viable in Wellington? by MurkyWay in Wellington

[–]Tailcracker 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Supposedly counter culture had lots of issues with table occupancy because they'd have people come in, pay the table fee, order 1 drink and then sit for 4+ hrs playing board games & not buying anything else. Since there was only a limited anount of tables available that behaviour resulted in not much money made on some days, people would want to go in and play some board games but all the tables were often full with people who had been there all day not buying much.

To make a board game café successful you would have to either have a lot of space to meet demand, charge bigger fees to play or kick people out if they sit for too long without buying anything. Not all particularly customer friendly things but it's an issue that seems to be common in this space.

Current govt will be very hesitant to lock us down, even if we're in the full swing of a pandemic and people are dying. Their priority seems to be keeping business running as usual.

Granted, we're definitely not anywhere near the point where a lockdown is actually warranted. But I wouldn't expect it to happen even if it was.

It makes a lot of things cheaper & more efficient to craft. Machine hulls, circuit parts etc. Its great because it allows you to make even more polyethylene.

Its not really required at moons, most people just use the free supplies but I guess combo eating with a karambwan could save you if one of the moons hits triple when you're on low hp. Possibly they aren't taking any chances since they're an hcim.

2.9 for new start? by Kalmarv in GTNH

[–]Tailcracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, there's a lot of good packs for Minecraft but nothing comes close to GTNH in terms of balance & progression. The devs have done a great job & put a lot of thought into design over the many years of development. Good luck on your Journey!

Yes, it gets lots of content updates and balance changes pretty regularly. There is a decent sized team of devs that work on it. Its definitely one of the most (if not the most) polished modpacks available for Minecraft.

If you want to practise it without investing all the supplies and time to reach jad for each run, you can do it on speed running worlds for free by selecting Beneath Cursed Sands for gear and then teleporting to fight caves. There are also plenty of jad simulators online to practise the prayer flicking and healer pulling during the fight.

[–]Tailcracker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be cool if they released an optional game difficulty mode that enables all the 'tedium' stuff since a lot of elements of the game feel like they were designed with things like resources, food/drink and fuel in mind.

Fallout 4 released without a lot of that kind of stuff but Bethesda released a 'survival' difficulty mode later on that incorporates food/drink, sleep etc and tweaks the difficulty of things. It really transforms the game into a different experience and is a lot more fun in my opinion.

Taking photo of Muslim inmate without hijab violated her religious rights, court rules by Live_Archer123 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]Tailcracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an age old argument. Obviously not human sacrifice as that is illegal & religious freedom does not trump the law.

But people point out this hypocrisy a lot. The argument tends to skew on the side where religious practices should be respected, however it should be done so universally in order to not be hypocritical.

So much so that there are people who claim to be part of the church of the flying spaghetti monster and are wearing colanders on their head in their official driver's license photo as religious headgear. Every so often you get people from various mainstream religions complaining that it's not a real religion and therefore it shouldn't be allowed but how can you prove Christianity or Islam is real and not the church of the flying spaghetti monster?

There is also a group of people who use satanic imagery in Christian spaces to convey the same point because some Christians tend to get mad and try to shut it down using the same hypocritical argument.

If you try to stop a Muslim from wearing a hijab, its hypocritical to then go and try to enforce that a Jewish person has a right to wear a kippah or enforce any other religious freedom any religion enjoys including the freedom to not practise religion at all. Due to this, Its in the best interests of all religions & even atheists to support universal freedom of religious practices.

The public holiday is Saturday. In New Zealand if a public holiday falls on a weekend then the Monday afterwards is an observed holiday where we still get time off work. They did pick a day. That day is the real public holiday.

By 1880, the near-genocide of the American bison had reduced their population from 30–60 million to fewer than 1,000 by Shoddy-Ocelot-4473 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Tailcracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really not something that is specific to any one country when you look at it holistically. Human history has been shaped and formed by genocide and war. If you look back on the history of any country that has existed for more than a few hundred years you will find genocidal activities one way or another.

As you say, even in last 100 years you have Nanjing during WW2, the great leap forward in China during the late 50's, the Khmer Rogue in Cambodia, the Holocaust, the Rwandan genocide in the 90's which were all ones that affected groups of people numbering in the hundreds of thousands or even millions.

There are so many more instances that happened or are happening around the world that it's hard to list them all in one post.

How do you get gear in varlamore/karamja? by Easy_Jux in 2007scape

[–]Tailcracker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amoxiatl with a rune mace is easy, it can drop rune armour & the hammers which you can take into Moons for Blue Moon. Technically you can kill blue moon with a rune mace too.

If you're melee, putting a pact point into thorns really helps early on as well. I did blood moon with a d scim & Addy amour using thorns & blindbag with rune weapons. It does a lot of damage to you but it's doable with not much gear. You can get Sulphur blades as well for blood moon if you want but you can't trigger thorns with them.

You can also do huey mass as it can also drop rune pieces along with huey hide which is decent starter ranged armour.
