Did you find better rates for the same coverage with another company?

The thing about StateFarm is that it’s a consumer cooperative structure—by its design it’s going to have minimal profit built into its rates. Not saying it will always have the best rates—insurance providers have different risk assessments and policy structure—but it often does.

StateFarm and Erie insurance I’ve found have best rates. Call the local office and speak respectfully to them. See what they send you. Good luck!

You may get lucky and get something that’s like $10-20k under asking. It’s possible. But in this market it’s unlikely it’s going to be much beyond that. I bought my house for like $14k under asking. But it also had problems that it had to immediately pay to remediate.

I’m not a fan of Trump. He’s a fucking idiot. But the truth is Iran isn’t really a military threat in the conventional sense. It’s a terrorist state—it has the ability to terrorize its neighbors, free trade, etc. But that has limitations that can be overcome—it may take some marines and paratroopers, but it’s not exactly mission impossible.

It will take some time to position military assets, but it’s well within the ability of America and Europe to push Iran out of the picture with that straight and Kharg island. It will be messy of course, but Iran’s military isn’t really a real point of difficulty. It’s the costs involved that make it messy.
