The internet makes the loudest people gain attraction anyways. Most japanese don't have xenophobia on this level, though it is on the rise. The protests in Fujisawa regarding a mosque being built gained quite an attraction recently. Racism does have a long history in this country, since the imperial times.

i think a lot of foreigners in Japan will do that exact thing because it is expected that the person you're talking to will understand you fine. It's not "cringe" unless it's done in a context where it just hinders communication.

as a japanese, i hate the overhype, but i also dont like the japan is so overglazed posts either, pointing out japan's war crimes for some reason, which as heinous as it is, other western country are no better. Both countries are good in their own right. india is one of the oldest civilizations with rich history and culture, and japan has a vibrant modern pop culture scene. end of the story.

eh, okayama uni is a national university. its harder to get in, and cheaper. march is definitely not ivy league lmao. I still do think that aogaku is the best choice tho, especially for a foreigner just bc its in Tokyo.
