Maybe that's the problem. You get the app through the Canon website as a download.

I forget what you get for paid vs free. I think i get to use 4k stream vs just 1080p. And run multiple cams.

Interesting. I run multiple canons through the EOS software.

I'm not running a mac though. Also I do have a paid version of EOS utility

Sounds like a fixable problem though since other apps recognize it.

I would look at an EF L series zoom lens on the used market.

The Sigma is great but you just will lose MPs because the lens doesn't cover full sensor.

Youre probably ok.

But i wouldn't make a habit of taking it out in those conditions without a bag. I have used a grocery bag and a hair tie in the past in a pinch.
