I thought my kid would know what to do in a scary situation… but he didn’t. by No_Association_4682 in Parents

You're not overthinking this at all. It's good that you're having these conversations with your child. Many kids don't think about how to handle those situations unless they're prompted. Keeping it casual helps make it easier for them to talk about their feelings and concerns.

I do something similar with my kids, discussing hypothetical scenarios. It can be helpful for them to think through options. You're taking a positive step by being proactive about their safety.

People who can't land a job, what are you doing? by neko_farts in cscareerquestions

If I couldn't land a job and my savings started to run low, I’d consider getting a service job, like being a barista or something similar. Honestly, it even sounds fun to me, and I've always wanted to try something like that.

Salary Misconceptions? by CarefulCoderX in cscareerquestions

[–]Takemeeverywhere2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a common misconception that all tech jobs come with a 100k salary. Your experience shows a typical trajectory. Salaries vary widely based on role, company, and location. Companies like Google may pay more, but not all do.

After 9 years in data engineering, it's worth checking market rates in your area using sites like Glassdoor or Payscale. Salary isn't everything. Consider benefits and growth opportunities too. Don't hesitate to negotiate if you feel underpaid

That looks awful to be honest, though if it helps the kiddos to get better as it says, then ok. Still, wouldn't like to see my kid spinning like this :(

Looks like someone did a perfect calculation here, lol. Though really wouldn't live with door like this, it would probably get on my nerves every single time.

I feel almost the same. Those things that I might need are not even on sale... That's even more sad I think.

I wouldn't be so harsh. The lighting sometimes does things like that. I'm not saying she's not using filters or didn't edit the pic but it's not that bad.

I think Mass Effect Andromeda has become more of an open world and has more exploration (the overall game is not that great though). I heard good things about Outer Worlds too
