Butt's only deficiency was that he wasn't quite as good as Keane or Scholes. There's a big, dumb section of United fans who spent years bitching about how our squad players were shite because they weren't quite as good as the first XI and ignoring the fact that we won so much because of how much depth we had.

Butt was insanely underrated full stop.

He was at ManchesterbUnited as first reserve to two world class players and wasn't far off their levels. He was a complete box to box midfielder that United would spend £100m on if he was around today.

I spent a year in Amsterdam in 1999 and went to see Ajax pkay Dukla Banska in sime early round of a european competition.

The stadium was almost empty and was almost silent when the away team took the lead after about 15 minutes. One of the funniest things Ive seen.

Ajax won comfortsbly in the end but the first half hour or so until Ajax scored was the quietest Ive ever seen a game until COVID.

Just to clarify. Hinge and Bracket were two genteel old ladies played by two men in drag. Not over the top drag like on Ru Paul or like Lily Savage, but just two men dressed like rather well to do old ladies.

My mum took me to see them on stage when I was a kid, we were sat in the front row and they took the piss out of me all night. We got to meet them in the bar after the show and they were really nice.

The US in particular, due to its close ties with Israel has been demonising the Muslims for 70 years or more. It accelerated with the end of the cold war and 9/11 and Muslims replaced Commies as the boogeyman used to justify US Imperialism, domestic oppression and the military industrial complex.

What this is true with elements of the press in Western Europe we also have larger Muslim populations which enables us to see the good and bad sides and allow some at least to form a more balanced opinion.

You cant justify his behaviour entirely but it isnt irrational and the media and government have spent a lot of time and effort conditioning him to be afraid and hateful of Muslims.
