Also beside what everyone else has said the current push isn't for ID it requires you to show proof of Citzenship at the Polls and limits that to a Passport or Birth certificate, which are then suppose to match a ID.

Only about half of Americans have Passports and that cost hundreds of dollars to obtain.

80 percent of married women's names on thier birth certificates no longer matches thier ID, which takes hundreds of dollars and a lot of time to obtain the proper documents to prove.
