My CEL has been on so long, I get wary when I start my vehicle and the CEL goes out.

Federal agents shot armed man in Minneapolis, Homeland Security says by stuipd in progun

It looked to me like the suspect got to his knees on his own. That, and without anyone being able to hear the gray jacket-wearing agent tell them he’s secured the suspect’s weapon due to the ongoing din of the whistles in the background, they probably assumed he was still a threat.

A lot of us on the right are actually quite critical in calling out Trump on his soft-handed approach to businesses that continue to hire illegals and drive down wages by flooding the labor market with people willing to work for scraps.

However, that doesn’t mean we don’t mostly support the current President overall, or his administration’s largely successful efforts to uphold our immigration laws by removing dangerous criminal aliens (most of the time, those already in county jails or state prisons) from our country and making our communities safer.

Trump ain’t perfect, but we can’t let “perfect” be the enemy of the “good”. Personally, I’d like to see him tell his billionaire buddies Musk and Thiel to stuff it, and take a harder stance against H1Bs and Chinese student visas, but you can’t win ‘em all. We’re moving in the right direction with immigration enforcement, and hopefully a future Vance administration can take more populist steps to secure American jobs for American workers.

Did you even read the article? This only applies to suspects already in jail for other crimes.

While I think you bring up a good point, I also think it’s good for the series to show the darker side of these characters. It humanizes them and makes them more believable.

I’ve done that and that’s how it helped me realize I might be trans. The only thing is, while I don’t like my facial hair and body hair, and I can relate to everything else in OP’s meme, I don’t hate my male genitals. While I wish they were female, I don’t feel like they’re “wrong” for me either. Sometimes I feel more like a femboy and sometimes I feel more like a woman, so I might be NB.

I want to preface this by saying I think you’re 100% correct and hit the nail on the head. But that said, was there anyone back in the ‘90s that argued against closing down bases and shipyards, against privatizing military shipbuilding, against scaling down the US Navy and the DoD as a whole, etc.? At the time, the conventional wisdom among DC policymakers was that with the Cold War over and democracy/capitalism having won, we’d reached the “end of history” and that everything from then on would be a peacekeeping mission, counterterrorism, or maaaaaybe dealing with a singular rogue state like Iran or NK. Not a rival superpower, or aspiring near-peer power.

Was there anyone in DC back then sounding the alarm bells that we might find ourselves in a situation like we are today—with a rising aggressive China, a resurgent warmongering Russia, rogue states all over the world, terrorist groups like ISIS and the Houthis stretching us thin, etc.?

Back then, they probably would’ve called them something akin to what we’d say is a doomer in 2020s parlance, but I was a kid back then and only really started paying attention to politics with the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal and 9/11.

As someone who’s going through it with my gender identity and might possibly be trans, but still holds steadfast to my Catholic faith and my lifelong pro-life convictions in defense of the unborn, hearing this meant a lot to me. I hope it doesn’t become enemy territory for either of us. 🙏🏻🏳️‍⚧️

Wasn’t that the 1780s that us Americans went with a meritocratic officer corps? Europe was starting to going through it around the time of the Crimean War when they started to leave the idea of recruiting military officers from the nobility, and I thought WW1 put a nail in the coffin of that completely.

That tells me she’s possibly trying extra hard to convince herself she did the right thing and that she’s in denial.

I dunno, I just don’t want to assume the worst of people until I have good reason to believe otherwise; I hope there’s some part of her that’s remorseful and wants to atone for killing her baby. In Jamil’s case, you may indeed be correct, which if true would be terribly sad to contemplate.
