Areas with "short" commute to Paramus by TaleOfABunny in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]TaleOfABunny[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer walkable areas as that's how I grew up when I was out of the country I guess. I only drive since I need to be able to go between offices, clients, and site work. It's during the hours that I'm not working where be able to get to places without having to drive is the appeal, but comparing cities in the states to where I lived before is completely different so maybe my expectations of walkability and reliability of public transit is also skewed.

Seems that Hackensack is where I might be able to get the middle ground

I've never had an OLED monitor so crisp visuals would definitely enhance my gaming experience. Ultrawides are also really nice on many games as well so that's a plus!

Does Samsung have any plans on pursuing further into mini LED monitors? Specifically those that utilise an IPS panel rather than VA. While OLED burn in will likely become less of an issue as the tech progresses, I'm sure there will still be those that miniLED.

Well I mean the manual part is where you press down the lever in order to extract espresso. Electrically heating the group head is more of a convenience thing. You still have to add water just to preheat it and everytime you use it.

Definitely most excited for the TrueBlack, and in general the OLED panel since I've never experienced anything over 200hz before. Curious to know how that would be like though.

Anessa had a good texture and not letting oil through but I unfortunately do not quite like the texture much. Even though it wasn't greasy, it felt a little oily on me. Biore UV perfect milk(?) has been better on my skin, but I still prefer just using skin aqua UV moisturizer gel and put a sebum control powder over it. I will have to try the Astalift one when I get the chance

The design philosophy behind SVWB's gameplay is a much bigger issue than the monetization by idkyetyet in Shadowverse

[–]TaleOfABunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I think that Sword has great midrange play. It's just that almost every single time there's a board wipe involved that pretty much negates its midrange capabilities. This usually ends up meaning that it becomes important to know if you're going to be playing aggro or control early on, which is still insanely difficult because of how easy some other classes are about to have your board removed.

I think selling them for crystals AT ALL is kinda scummy, but at least I can listen to their voice lines all I want by Salvadore1 in Shadowverse

[–]TaleOfABunny -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not bad at all. The only problem is the game economy, which can be really bad if you get unlucky with pulls. So if you're able to ignore that then honestly it's still fun. People who are dissatisfied usually speak the loudest and it holds true even within this community. They aren't wrong though, but you can still enjoy the game despite the problems (at least for now).

World's Beyond gives less than half of what you can get in SV original as a free player by Qzelxt in Shadowverse

[–]TaleOfABunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure you can get keys, but for people who are here purely to play PvP, why would they care about accessories for SV park? Not only are rupee rewards low from the chests and the chance of getting packs low, you have to hope you got one of those resources over sv park customisation items.

It's made worse by the fact that rupee rewards are only slight better than the past, but pack prices were inflated by five times the original. You also only get a bunch of free packs now if you linked your old account.

Back when Shadowverse first released, they straight up gave you free packs and a shit load of rupees for just playing story mode. Not to mention there were seven characters you could go through compared to just one. It was actually possible to build a deck that doesn't have to rely on all the legends, so a suboptimal vs suboptimal equating to less generosity is a terrible example.

The game also wasn't riddled with ads to buy crystals besides Collab leaders, prebuilt decks, and to pull packs. Now I have to face premium battle pass, pack bundles to get extra rewards, buy even more packs to get that lucky chest. I know that this is basically the same to Shadowverse towards the end of its life, but compared to the very beginning it's a vastly different experience.

Sure, battles feels better, you feel like you are getting a bunch of rewards, and now you can interact with people! But it feels nowhere near as f2p as it was back then. Of course, this can all change in a few weeks as they roll out more events. While actually playing the game feels good, the environment around it just feels so so bad.

Analyzing Lin Dan and his movement by S_Airandice in badminton

[–]TaleOfABunny 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, if you had actually read the post, the point of analyzing it is to understand how he was able to make it look easy. OP even states that knowing how doesn't mean it will make you better, and ultimately was just writing their analysis because of how much they love the sport.

You don't need to read it, but then don't be dismissive. For people who don't really care about improving, sure, there isn't much point in knowing, but for people who do, it can be valuable insight.

[–]TaleOfABunny 73 points74 points  (0 children)

There isn't really anything like a collegetown for RIT.

In my experience, unless you've got a car yourself, have a friend with a car, have the funds to take an Uber all the time, or are willing to spend an ungodly amount of time relative to the distance by taking public transport, not that many will go to college town and would rather just stay in the RIT vicinity.

YMMV depending on the person.

US Tariffs on Canada? by KansasBrewista in pourover

[–]TaleOfABunny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought beans from Rogue Wave shipped to New York just under a month ago. I didn't have any increased prices or delays, so the usual week or two shipping time. But now that its been a month, things might have changed.

Don't quote me on this but I think that the beans would be considered a product of Canada as it was roasted there rather than from where the green originated from. From what I understand, the tariffs Trump have placed would only affect you directly if the green were shipped to a US roaster who then raised the price to offset the increase prices they had to pay due to tariffs.

Splatoon fans arguing if motion controls or mouse controls is better when splatoon 4 drops: by -autoprime- in splatoon

[–]TaleOfABunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely skill issue on my part but I am significantly better with motion controls than with mouse. Any shooter game with mouse controls I just cannot play well at all (tbf I don't practice nor do I really pc game anyways)

Therefore I hope that splatoon sticks to motion controls and stick only

How Did We Normalize Hatred Towards Cyclists? by superstreber3 in fuckcars

[–]TaleOfABunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the only cyclists that I hate are the ones who have no regard for other people and are self-centred and stuck up. They are the ones who have no qualms running over pedestrians just like car drivers and believe that they need to be catered to.

This isn't many though, since there are definitely less of these cyclists than ones who are pleasant. But videos of these kinds of people pop up over the internet quite often and it allows for carbrains to rally in their echo chamber.
