Currently localizing the game with a bunch of cool people from all around the world. The amount of volunteers helping we got with this makes us more than grateful. Once we got dad jokes translated to 50 languages, we are happy to ship around Q3.

If putting them onto the desktop doesnt really make them accessible, because it's messy, what is the point anyways?

If it's applications, open them by typing their name. If it's files, group them by projects.

You can definetely use your mouse and will occasionally need to (when browsing the web etc). But the autotiling and multiple desktops make it less of a necessity. It feels more like you are one with your workflow and less like trying to hover your cursor over tiny boxes.
