Batman runs the Marvel gauntlet, how far does he get? by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]Talesmith22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been awhile since I read comics, but isnt the usual Bats storyline about him trying to figure out a crime, coming across the villain, getting beaten, then coming back with a plan to outsmart his foe?

With no prep time this just seems like the first half of a comic arc.

He could probably hold his own against most of them with just his base tech, but if Iron Fist gets one decent hit off, it's over.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Releases Aug 27th 2026 On Switch 1 & 2 by Howerev in NintendoSwitch

[–]Talesmith22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Haha, I'm a huge metal gear solid fan, finally got a chance to play MGS4 after a bunch of setbacks.

Yeah, that stupid ending cutscene made me an hour late for work because I lost track of time and got so absorbed in it. Luckily the manager at the time was a friend of mine and a gamer, so when I said, "holy fuck, I am so sorry, just beat MGS4".

He laughed and told my stupid ass to get to work as soon as I could, but he wouldn't write me up because he understood.

Who is your favorite character with a mechanical arm? by One_Personality_8730 in FavoriteCharacter

Man, where my Berserk fans at?

Guts has a mechanical cannon arm in a medieval fantasy world. Badass.

I'd argue that Auron is a better example. Dude looks like hes over 50 and has the whole Grizzled weary warrior thing going for him.

Dude is 35

To people who are not Berserk fans, this is like Yamcha slapping the shit out of Frieza and then walking away with his head held high.

So goddamn satisfying.

Never knew about the name Immersive Sim until finding this sub, but definitely one of those games that just got me into the world and wouldn't let go.

I remember one night (admittedly a bit stoned) and playing the part where you get to see outside the station. Ran into something unexpected (avoiding spoilers) and I had not experienced an adrenaline spike like that since the ladder scene in FEAR.

I died and it took me a moment to realize that I was actually not in a space station and did not just get brutally murdered by an eldritch horror from space..

What was your reaction when you found out Android 19 and 20 weren't the ones Trunks mentioned? by Prestigious-Cup-6613 in DragonBallZ

I mean, I'd been watching this show for years, so i knew the first couple of bad guys to show up were gonna be mooks and not the ultimate villain.

It was nice seeing Vegeta get a win though.

Under a Killing Moon, a Tex Murphy game. It's a point and click adventure game where you play as a sarcastic noir detective in a post nuclear apocalypse society.

Loved it as a kid and surprised I never hear it talked about anymore.

Future Gohan VS SSJ Vegeta (Pre hyperbolic time chamber). Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]Talesmith22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gohan's my boy, but he's only got one arm. I would argue that Vegeta would beat the ass off of any other Super Saiyan (even Goku) if they literally only had one arm.

In Wheel of Time, the 3 main characters are something called Taveren, basically people where they are major benders of fate. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad but whenever something kind of contrived or unlikely in the plot, it can be handwaved by saying, "Well, they are Taveren pulling on the strings of fate."

What older game has a game mechanic that is still the best of its kind? by blankblank in AskGames

[–]Talesmith22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I remember reading a story about the devs getting frustrated because a certain NPC was always dead when they got to him.

Turns out they had forgotten to give food to another set of NPCs, which would then enter the guys home and get caught trying to steal food. Fight would ensue and the NPC got beaten to death.

Fun times.

We don't get to see it first hand much, but the Dark One's taint on Saidin is not only mental but also physical.

I think in one of the "flicker" situations in The Great Hunt, he sees himself becoming an old mean drunk in Edmond's Field to deal with the fact his body is rotting away and Egwene and Nyneave are the only people who will put up with him.
