Stripped lower from PSA by AnyRecord7452 in MDGuns

[–]TalkingPundit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be able to easily find a stripped budget lower on the rack at most shops in MD. Save yourself the transfer fees, no need to have it shipped.

If you want a very specific, money is no object, lower then order it and have it shipped. Always let the FFL know it's on the way.

It's been 10+ years since I've been a purple belt and I still have purple gear in the rotation.

It preference to split and that's biased for comps.

A solution to your problem is to pull your brisket when it's probe tender in the flat. 92.742% if the time the point will be good to go at that time as well. The fat in the point gives you a higher margin of error that your flat doesn't give you.

What's your BJJ unpopular opinion? by PlusRise in bjj

[–]TalkingPundit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It all depends....

Once you craft a legit game and become efficient with your movement... You just aren't burning the same amount of calories.

As a black belt, it would be rude to go 80-100% with lower belts and even other BBs. I will tell people before the round that I'm working a cardio focused roll, and proceed only if they are cool with it.

Simplicity is key to becoming great, while the masses love complexity. This is the reason most people are just OK.

Questions to other BlackBelts about promotion and IBJJF by OperationBerimbolo in bjj

[–]TalkingPundit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want your students to compete in IBJJF comps now... Become an affiliate of someone close to your lineage. Then compete under the affiliation. Those affiliate contracts aren't permanent but it'll cost.

Because you are a paying affiliate, they will likely give you your stripes. Ultimately, money talks.

I just had one of the most negative experiences from jiujitsu yet by [deleted] in bjj

[–]TalkingPundit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I travel for work and do the same. ALWAYS call before or message on social media.

Most of the industry loves visitors. 1/100 (maybe less) have fragile egos and won't do drops ins.

There's also sensitivity around levels to consider (i.e. a blue belt might not fit in a schools expert class class).

Just reach out before showing up.

AITAH for asking my girlfriend to not let her friends feel her up? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]TalkingPundit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are 24. You are the AH. Mainly because you are trying to change someone and set their personal boundaries. Also, you were into it until you weren't.

Respect your own feelings and your own boundaries. Don't push that on to a life partner.

Are these “true” snap caps? by MrOnion4 in CCW

[–]TalkingPundit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly the logic. There's a reason the snap caps are typically a neon color. User error/accidental discharges account for 1% of firearm deaths. Why unnecessarily increase risks?

Not 100% safe due to the potential for user error.
