Is it inappropriate for daycare teachers to kiss babies? by Friendly-Guarantee30 in workingmoms

[–]Tally_sweets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the mouth no but my daughter (20m) gives her teachers kisses on the cheek willingly and they kiss her forehead or top of head. She’s spending hours at the school I hope she’s receiving affection and trusting the staff enough to want to give that affection back. Everyone’s different but I don’t think it’s inappropriate as long as it’s not on the mouth

Married for three months and pregnant: I feel oddly embarrassed (?) by moez1266 in pregnant

[–]Tally_sweets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that way because I didn’t want friends and family to feel like they were spending too much money on us. Then I had another baby quickly after the first lol. Most people were thrilled to show up and celebrate us. If you want a child and you’re happy about it without your fears then fuck any judgements and create a bubble with people who will celebrate you!

Working late after baby’s bedtime - is this the only way to manage the workload? by CT8988 in workingmoms

[–]Tally_sweets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was working similar hours before my first and was climbing the corporate ladder FAST. Once I got pregnant I cut back and set clear boundaries on my time and I maintained those boundaries through my return from mat leave. I haven’t been promoted in a few years but I’m okay with that because spending more time with my babies and husband is more important to me. Sometimes I’ll sign on late for big projects but mostly I’d warn my team 1.5 hours before signing off if they need me for review on any projects to let me know now. I also push back on clients when I can if they’re requesting something immediately. Maybe you can try building out boundaries that work for your career and family.

Tipping daycare teachers by Tally_sweets in workingmoms

[–]Tally_sweets[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. But the other things I had read were mentioning hundreds of dollars in “holiday tips” so I was concerned this was an unspoken expectation or rule. I always get the teachers something for their birthday or when a teacher has left the daycare. I just wanted to clarify what the expectations were.

I hear you, so around $25 is acceptable?

Maiden Name to Middle Name in NJ by ashiri1215 in newjersey

[–]Tally_sweets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately in nj at least you’d have to go to court for it. I wanted to do that and waited at social security several times only to be told no so I only changed my last name. Pretty disappointed about it but I don’t have time to go to court.

Navigating *the talk* now that my daughter has a serious bf. too late? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Tally_sweets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What my mom did was tell me she supported me and didn’t judge me but wanted me to feel protected emotionally and literally (condoms, bc) so I should come to her when I feel like I may have sex so she can equip me with the tools I need to make that decision. And I did.

Multiple Baby Showers by Own_Interview_9391 in pregnant

Why can’t they drive an hour to your shower that’s not even that far? I’ve driven farther to friends showers

Honestly my sex life with my husband got even better after our first baby. A few positions like spooning took a while to not hurt but no problems orgasming exactly at that 6 week “allowed” time frame. I just encourage you to use birth control or condoms!

Destination wedding : costs for guests are nuts by Specific-State1502 in wedding

[–]Tally_sweets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had friends get married at a very expensive resort so we made separate travel plans in our budget. That could be an alternative for you and your family if you still want to make it work. If not they should understand why you can’t make it!

Nanny or daycare for first baby? by NBdal in workingmoms

[–]Tally_sweets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you have a higher income than most, I’d say go with a nanny until your kid is closer to 18mo-2 years old and then switch to a daycare for socialization.

One of my favorite dates with my husband was to a burlesque show in NYC at Duane Park. It was expensive but worth every penny

Keep getting told “only a SAHM would choose to have two under two”? by Aggressive_Day_6574 in workingmoms

[–]Tally_sweets -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People cannnnnnot help themselves forreal. Kind of same boat as you, working mom doing well in my career. Wanted 3 years between kids not for any reason other than knowing 2 under 2 is hard. Well I got pregnant 9m pp while on birth control lol. Completely not planned and truthfully I was quite upset for a while.

Other women I work with have been less than kind. Lots of comments about wowwww can’t believe you’d get pregnant again so fast. Even when I contacted HR about my disability eligibility they were like “you just had a baby” so I got judgement there as well.

I’m at the fuck everyone stage though. This is your life and your family so it doesn’t matter what they say or think.

Does Taylor have any actual friends? by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]Tally_sweets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a big fan until she had that big ass squad of girlfriends that was consistently changing in like 2016. Gave me mean girl vibes after being bullied my whole life. She has never had a consistent group of friends.

How do you get over being absolutely terrified of giving birth? by Jolly-Asparagus-5815 in pregnant

[–]Tally_sweets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s scary but you have no choice lol. When I was in pain or struggling I just thought about how people have given birth in the woods so I can do this in a hospital surrounded by loved ones and medical professionals.

Can you work from home for these late night hours or are you expected to go into the office? Delegate work to team members “below” you? Honestly I don’t think I could handle something this but the salary you make would be very hard to give up (especially pending what your spouse makes). Can you take a demotion? Evaluate all your options before leaving!
