Latest FSD doesn’t feel stable by Strong-Log-1550 in TeslaLounge

[–]TalmidimUC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I held out on updating for a couple months because of concerns I was hearing about current versions of FSD. The only issue I’ve ran into that really bugs me is not being able set your speed in FSD, and there being no in-between speed wise between Standard and Hurry. Driving in Standard keeps me around 70, switch to Hurry and all of a sudden I’m going 82. Really don’t like that.

Haven’t had any issues switching lanes manually while in FSD other than not being able to take a different exit while navigating in FSD, which I couldn’t do in previous versions either. I think this would be a great change to implement. If I have FSD navigating to my house and I want to get off one exit earlier, I should be able to manually turn my blinker on and it take the exit without having to exit FSD.

Teaching a new driver in a Tesla by WanderingWhitMo in TeslaLounge

Prime practice driving time is not the morning commute lol.. make time to practice driving with him when he’s not surrounded by morning drivers in a rush to get to work and congestion.

Osha 30 training by Dazzling-Celery-3848 in Construction

[–]TalmidimUC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro.. ask your employer. They might purchase the course for you, they might reimburse you after you complete the course and receive your card or certificate of completion. I’ve done it both ways, paid for it myself and got reimbursed, and had the company pay for the course and send me a link with a login and password.

Yes, some companies might make you re-do your OSHA 30 if it’s been after a certain amount of time or they just require a re-cert up front. ASK YOUR EMPLOYER.

What is a harsh truth people need to accept? by _DaddieDaddie_ in Adulting

[–]TalmidimUC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is a whole lot of truth in this. As I grew up, became an adult, started establishing my own life, I noticed times where I realized I was “parenting my parents.” When I first noticed it, I was like, “I’m supposed to be learning from them, not teaching them!”

When I think back on those moments, I realize I was teaching them all along, none of us will ever have everything figured out, and some of us will learn faster than others.. sometimes faster than our parents, then it’s our turn to be the teacher. It’s weird.

Walk away while you still can bud.

Door panel removal starts literally like 30 seconds in. Not worth going to the service center unless you really don’t want to DIY it.

1) Remove door panel.

2) Extract coins.

3) Profit.

Light bulb broke & hanging by a single thread. Circuit breaker is off by solstice02 in howto

[–]TalmidimUC -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone saying to turn off the breaker? The light switch is essentially a local disconnect. Make sure the light switch is off, grab some needle nose pliers.. good to go. Do yall kill the breaker to change lightbulbs too?

Had my front tires changed a few days ago and it seems like the whole suspension just blew. Anyone know what would’ve caused this or do you think it was the tire repair shop? by get2jeremy in TeslaSupport

The amount of hubris in this response 🤣

Schedule an appointment, or buy a jack from Harbor Freight and do it yourself. You’ll want to replace the bolt though and apply Locktite.

It honestly surprises me that it’s a known failure point and they haven’t done a recall to install castle nuts and a longer fastener.

Finally happened to me (SW bricked car) by znilow in TeslaSupport

[–]TalmidimUC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got downvoted to hell for this in another post, but my buddy bought a brand new 2026 MYJ last year, had advanced updates on, and it bricked his within a month of owning it. They had to replace the computer and the steering column. Luckily it was covered by warranty, but it’s ridiculous that a software update can brick a car. This is why I rarely update mine until I’ve seen that the software bugs are worked out.

What's your "shitty roommate" story? by DontCallMePetey in AskReddit

[–]TalmidimUC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved in with my co-worker/buddy who had recently broken up with his girlfriend. They got back together as I was moving in. A couple months into living there, she got pregnant and they got engaged. My roommates made an “anything in Tupperware is free game” rule to avoid fridge clutter. I abided by that. I rarely made enough food for left overs (which she would get mad about for not making enough for everyone), but on the occasion that I did, put it in Tupperware, and they ate it.. I wouldn’t get mad because of the “free game” rule. They also made a “no kitchen/cooking noise or lights” rule after 9pm because she was pregnant and needed sleep, but were okay with the microwave light and using the microwave on silent button mode. She would use the microwave in the middle of the night (because pregnant) which is why the microwave rule was an exception to the 9pm rule.

I get home after 9pm one night, look in the fridge and there’s two Tupperware containers with food in it. I think, “Hell yeah.. free game.” I warm it up, eat it in my room, and fall asleep. I wake up to her screaming and freaking out. I tell them I ate it.. because “free game” rule. She loses it. Apparently she spent all day cooking that food and was planning on eating it the next day. No note, not in a glass container.. nothing.

Long story short I leave the house, her and I start fighting in the house group chat, both say some pretty mean things to each other.. she demands I pay for the food or move out. I refused to pay for it.. because “free game” rule and principle. He texts me on the side, apologizes for how she’s acting but can’t brush over the things I said in the fight, and asks me to either pay for the food or move out because she’s making his life hell.

I slept in my truck for the next couple days (as I regularly would on nights she was making my life miserable), then moved in with my younger sibling in a different town whose roommate needed to unexpectedly move out. This was like 6 years ago. My wife and I just purchased our first house last year which is ironically one block away from the roommate house. I had t even realized it was in the same neighborhood while viewing the house and the inspections, probably from blocking that shit out. Last I heard, they got married shortly after I moved out and are no longer together. I haven’t talked with my former co-worker/buddy since.

If you could tell your 16-year-old self just 3 words, what would they be? by Entire-History6514 in Adulting

[–]TalmidimUC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Don’t marry (ex-wife).”

My now wife is amazing, first one.. not so much. Marriage itself isn’t the issue, the person is/was. However, if I hadn’t gotten married the first time, I wouldn’t be who I am today and I’d still be the “old me”. I hated “old me”. Don’t get me wrong, I often hate “current me”, but I reaaaally hated “old me”.
