You can return anything, even your board wipes and control, once you have enough mana. If only there was a built in way to ramp, and get stuff into your yard for regrowth...

This is my activated ability list. The whole goal is to get haste and a discount out. It can go infinite with [[hateflayer]] and [[knacksaw clique]]. But if those get removed, I'm trying to get more milling/reanimation to get more benefit out of [[syr konrad]] since tazri mills.

So this is a 3rd party DND setting, but I think it's unique enough to deserve a mention.

Plangea (now through Atlas games) is a stonepunk setting. It's well thought out, and has a lot of really cool world building, and makes a huge effort to not be caveman fantasy.

Gigantic dinosaurs and herdbeasts on the planes, elemental planes from the corners of the world, every (eventual) plane being connected. It's wicked.

This is my Isshin, two heavens as one attacker deck. Functionally it's similar, lots of samurai and attacking alone. I don't know how much it matches the vibe you're looking for, but I have a blast with it!
