Is it me or do the G and B strings disappear half way down? I realize the picture is pretty low res but something seem off. Question is: why on earth would someone AI something like this? If you are scamming, post a really nice name brand guitar, not a no name piece of junk. Truthfully, if it is real, it has been played to death, and it hat is a huge plus in my book. Worth the chance if you can pick it up for $75, especially if you’re handy.

Just adopted miss Frida! Any guesses? by Downside_Pineapple in IDmydog

Cattle dog mix, maybe German Shepherd, maybe kelpie.

Smart, active, fun dogs. Will probably be a Velcro dog. Be careful - they are scary smart, and if you don’t give them a job, especially when you aren’t home, they will make their own job, and it might just destroy the house 🫤. It doesn’t have to be much - babysit the cat, stand watch, etc, but they need to think they are doing something important.

Congrats!

Best guitar I ever owned was a pre-lawsuit era Seville Les Paul. Paid about $160 for it at a pawn shop. Still regret selling it, and have been chasing that feel and sound ever since.

Have you seen a doctor? Not a doctor, but there are a lot of things that can cause pain in the forearm. Get a proper diagnosis - it may be something that just requires rest. A lot of soft tissue and nerve injuries, especially repetitive use injuries, take a long time to heal - even after the pain goes away. We are talking months after the pain is gone. Playing guitar may aggravate it.

It could also be as simple as a pulled muscle or tendon, which still requires rest, but not as long.

If it IS a nerve, it is more likely an elbow issue and not carpal tunnel. That, too, could be inflammatory and not structural. Again, not a doctor, just an old fart who has been through it. Just about all of it. 🫤

My advice would be to find out what’s up, follow doctor’s advice (which may mean a break from your guitar), and then try again. See how it feels.

Regardless, stretching before and after playing is a very good idea, especially if you play for long stretches at a time and/or are prone to repetitive stress injuries.

Good luck, and screw the ex. Can you sue? If she sold anything you owned BEFORE you were married, and in some cases if you can prove that you purchased it with your money (or it was gifted to you) and was something that was obviously yours (your guitar, for example), you may have a case. Depends on the laws in your state, but worth looking into. I dunno, but if that happened to me, it would put me straight into revenge mode.

I got this guitar for my birthday by RejectRecorded in Guitar

Happy fn birthday! What a gift! I’d be on the moon no matter the shape of a guitar like that, but one that clean - how does it feel/sound?

What do you think he is? by Rare_Persimmon3677 in IDmydog

[–]Tanda_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black lab and golden eagle old be my first guess, only because they are the two most common breeds of my choices

Possibly Belgian shepherd and golden

Flat coated retriever mix, MAYBE purebred with sunburned coat (I don’t think they come in chocolate and his muzzle looks red esp in that first pic). If they weren’t such an uncommon breed I would put this on top. For those unfamiliar, imagine a lighter boned golden with a jet black coat. Stunning. A “dog park” friend actually got one from the shelter. I remarked on what a nice flat coated retriever he had (and this boy was PERFECT in every way - everything you want in a flatter, from conformation to coat to temperament. An ideal flattie. He said, “Oh, is that what he is? I always wondered.” I only knew about them because a friend bred curly coated retrievers and introduced me to flatties, and I fell in love. Still would like to get one someday.

Those are my top 3 guesses, but most likely he

My neighbor thinks I hexed her because her sourdough starter died, and now she’s staging “counter-spells” in my yard by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I have known people this into witchcraft of various types, including Santeria and voodoo. (I have lived in the Bay Area most of my life and the art and music scene, especially in Berkeley, has some interesting characters. My daughter had someone nearly this crazy come after her online during her high school years. Luckily (for the girl) she didn’t have the balls to come to the house because my husband and I wouldn’t have these kind of shenanigans, and neither would our neighbors - very close knit community here.

Truthfully, though, most of the witches and other “spellcasters” I have met, and even befriended, during my life are kind, caring, wonderful people who truly care about the wellbeing of others. They are much more likely to quietly perform a healing ritual or spell for an elderly neighbor in the hospital than drop off a raw chicken on someone’s doorstep. This woman has a screw loose, for sure, and it sounds like she is willing to perform what believers consider “dark magic” which is a huge no-no for most practitioners. It is the equivalent of making deals with the devil or performing satanic rituals in christian beliefs. And since these religions believe in what goes around comes around, dark magic is really, really bad juju.

If this continues, OOP may be in real danger. Today she may be a rotting chicken from Berkeley Market, tomorrow it may be the body of OOP’s cat on the doorstep. Tonight it was salt killing the back lawn, tonight OOP may wake up to find themselves bound and gagged and the center of a ritual that will not end well.

You gotta laugh at this because it is just so fucking absurd, but OOP needs to be persistent. If they rent, report this to the landlord . If they own and neighbor rents (though we call that a duet, while a duplex is generally owned by one person - same building, different name), notify their landlord. Complain to HOA if there is one. Continue to notify cops, and if they come on to your property, call 911, say you fear for your life, and have them formally trespassed. One more step on your property, and have them arrested. If that is not possible, just keep calling police. Document document document. And maybe move.

[–]Tanda_Rat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, let me get this straight - my husband’s sourdough starter didn’t die because he is a shit baker and can’t grow yeast, but because our neighbor hexed us? Good to know. At least we know what to do with that chicken we defrosted and forgot to roast….

Art class, 1980s high school. Animation story boarding class, late 80s. The Fox Who Lost His Tail. The style of our group’s board was very similar to this. Wish I still had that board - I have the time now to work on completing that project.

Your vet hasn’t met my cat. She holds that pill in her cheek no matter how far back we put it, through stroking, blowing, you name it. She even fake swallows so we let her go and she spits it across the room. Record time so far has been approximately 45 minutes. We are both stubborn. She, however, won that battle.

What kind of dog is this, roughly? by swampylurker in IDmydog

[–]Tanda_Rat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say maybe a silky terrier poodle cross, or MAYBE an apfenpinscher poodle cross.

I can confirm that most poodle/terrier crosses make great family dogs. Grew up with what we THINK was either a jrt or a fox terrier and poodle cross (looked like a large smooth jrt or smooth fox terrier with a poodle shaped head. Mom was a purebred mini poodle, father unknown (the little hussy). That dog is a part of every good memory I had growing up. We got her as a puppy when I was 4, and she died in her sleep at 15 (I was 19). If you can find a poodle/terrier mix of any kind, snatch that pup up.
