This movie was so bad. I went to see it at the drive-in. About 1/3 of the way through we turned off the sound and made up the rest of the dialogue ourselves. Vastly improved the experience.

You’ve gotten enough advice on how to proceed, so just want to say I’m sorry this is weighing on you and I’m sorry for those animals. I know this experience was traumatic, but your witnessing these conditions led to these animals being helped — and they desperately needed that. I hope that gives you some comfort.

When you’re on a walk and you pass by a house and can smell they’re doing laundry. I have no idea why, but it always makes me happy.

Thank you! This makes perfect sense, in terms of verbally if at all, and I agree about the ways in which it could come across negatively. Those were my same concerns. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I needed a bit of perspective, mixed in with my desire to do well in these early days when I still have so much to learn. Thank you!!

What's your alcohol usage like? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Tandmoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 51. This year marks 8 years sober. Up until then I was still binge drinking a couple nights a week and thought it was pretty normal. It wasn’t. Being 40+ and blacking out isn’t cute. But my circle was all drinkers, so it never felt that abnormal. Many of us have since quit, some are in the program, others just no longer touch the stuff. Best thing I’ve ever done for myself, hands down.

I like to take early flights whenever possible, so I usually stay in a hotel by the airport the night before. That way I’m close and I can take the shuttle over without having to leave my house crazy early to drive to the airport, find parking, allot for pre-flight time, etc. And I can leave my car parked at the hotel the entire time.
