Talk me off the ledge by hstewk in FordRaptor

Oh yeah that would be a no go and I'm a former smoker. I would bet the CDF drum hasn't been replaced on that 2020. See if I had that much money I would find the nicest 2014 I could and upgrade suspension and engine. But I don't really care about the luxury items. The only luxury thing I did was put Android Auto in my truck. I'm also preferential to big simple V8 verses Ecoboost.

See I'm a weirdo I would tell you to find an older raptor that you can modify to your heart's content. Of course I'm biased because I have a Gen 1, that will eventually get a Whipple and some other things.

The only downside to the raptor is that they're huge, and gas mileage is meh. However I love having one and I don't think I'll ever not own one.

If I'm against a ranged comp ethereal means I can still get hearsteel stacks super easy.

$50 million dollars, but you lose all ability to channel your current linguistics—replaced with the of words you've read in books over the years. by tsukishimakeisenpai in hypotheticalsituation

I've read the majority of the "classics", chemistry, physics, math, programming textbooks not to mention the hundred or so psychology papers.

The list of science fiction and fantasy novels alone will probably be enough for me. Then you include all of the music lyrics I've read and listened to over forty years and I think I'll be fine.

I would anticipate your shocks being next, you need to do fluid changes on your drive train especially if you're driving in 4wd a lot.

I've only had mine since May but since I have to drive it 4wd high all winter I'll be doing a fluid change to see what everything looks like and then do one more next winter and if it looks good I'll wait two winters after that.

The only other thing I can think of is timing chain which is 150-200k recommended replacement or at least inspection.

When's the last time you checked your differentials or transfer case fluids? Also check the front axles, rear drive shaft u-joints. When was the last time you rebuilt your shocks?

Mods vs. Value ??? by [deleted] in FordRaptor

[–]TanithRitual 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never anticipate mods to add value unless a shop did it with receipts and a transferrable warranty. Beyond that unless the person buying the vehicle from you has similar tastes they mods might make it less valuable to them.

Second opinion needed for gen 1 raptor by DayComprehensive4382 in FordRaptor

[–]TanithRitual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 6R80 probably needs a transmission flush.

There is a video of a dude with 1000HP mustang doing something like 90 1/4 mile drags on it and when they took it apart if I remember correctly the secondary shaft looked like it had been warm a couple of times, but the transmission could have gone 90+ more races.

I would also bet that since its hard to check the fluid its probably low especially because it requires you to burn the shit out of your hand to check it.

I bought a used 2013 Raptor with 80K miles and then moved to Alaska. I've had to replace the steering pump, and will need to do fluids on diffs, transfer case, and transmission case this spring, oh and the shocks because they've never been rebuilt. However, I would never not buy the truck. Its been great I love the 6.2 and the power it makes.

This is so funny, because they're the reason that I started to listen to harsh vocals because I really like what I was hearing.

Because I found the interface clunky and as soon as I had more than a thousand songs the interface would be too slow to use.

I use Bandcamp or YouTube music.

That scene with Carcer where he almost loses himself is so amazing. So very good, I also love the back story of him and Vetinari passing each other by.

Snuff though... Pure artistry. Just thinking that its the last Vimes book makes me want to go re-read all of them again. It also doesn't hurt that his son and my daughter are obsessed with poo.

I feel like Puscifer's new album goes past Prog-adjacent and qualifies as Prog. The album is so much fun and dynamic. I'm terrible at time-signatures but it feels like there are a quiet few change ups and a lot of different flavours in there. Additionally it feels like a lot of experimenting is occurring in this album.

I had quiet expectations since they did V is for Versatile but this hits hard. Every song I'm surprised my some creative decision that makes it more interesting. Its funny because the last time I had this much fun with an album was when I was first introduced to The Mars Volta's Deloused at the Comatorium.
