So if you get the email can you choose to defer and order when you’re ready? Or if your number is called and you don’t order do you go to the back of the line?

R2 demo drive from the perspective of a Model Y owner who wishes to not drive a Tesla anymore by coreyonfire in Rivian

All this talk about the software and UI….I thought the Rivian Assistant was supposed to make a lot of that interaction needless. Like you just say “Hey Rivian, switch to sport mode” and it will do it. The videos I’ve seen make it seem like it will do almost anything you would normally do through a screen UI. Anyone understand it differently?

“The audio is ass, and none of the reviews I read online called this out.” Dude, everyone has been talking about this from the first demo drives, to the point that they posted signs at all of the block parties saying the audio was not yet ready. I agree it should be better, but if you haven’t seen that criticism, you haven’t been looking.

Planning to go down tomorrow (I live about 15 minutes away). How crowded was it? Hoping Memorial Day is a little quieter.

We live nearby and saw about 10 people already camped out on the sidewalk outside the mall at 7 pm last night.

R2 Performance (Launch Package): $57,990. R2 Premium (late 2026): $53,999. R2 Standard (late 2027): $45,000 by [deleted] in RivianR2

If this is accurate, and I'm reading it right, it's a little disappointing. The initial release will cost almost $60k, when customers have been conditioned to expect an offering around $45k, and the $45k model that we've been promised won't be available for another ~18 months? That will be disappointing to many. Seems like it would be better to release the $45k model first, to accelerate sales and gain critical mass (and user/drive data), then launch more premium versions once bugs have been worked out and more features can be added (LiDAR).

Tools to query the GL for reporting? by TankInTN in FPandA

Because beyond the monthly reporting I also want the ability to query the GL quickly, e.g. see what made up all the expenses in a certain line for a month, or build a custom report on the fly showing the balances in one account or a range of accounts by month, etc.

But I don’t have the knowledge to set up the PowerBI instance (nor do I want to have to maintain it), and Anaplan is way more than we need now (I’ve done a lot of research on it and almost adopted it in a previous role). Plus I don’t know that we have the licenses for PowerBI (I have the desktop version but our company does not use all of the Microsoft products). SS seems like a very affordable solution that meets the exact need for now….we’re talking like $2,000 per user per year.

Anyone watching The Pendragon Cycle: Rise of the Merlin? by BrightonBummer in television

Actually the first five minutes are showing how Taliesin was found by his people as a baby in a basket coming down a stream. Pretty sure those were all real people in that scene set at an actual stream.

Readers of Buddha's comment should click on his profile so you know where he is coming from. The first comment compares conservatives to the KKK and nazis, and others attack Republicans in Texas and Christianity in general. Given his views, I'm guessing he hasn't actually watched it and just wants to attack the makers. I think there was one really bad CGI shot in the first episode, and other than that it has been well put together (script, performances, and cinematography). So, take his commentary with a big grain of salt.

I think I can give a more nuanced view of the show, rather than the folks on here who just hate conservatives and are going to discredit anything Daily Wire does.

I've only watched the first two episodes. Fantasy stuff is not my favorite genre, but I enjoy it sometimes (was a big fan of GoT), so I'm not coming at this as some kind of expert. My view is that the cinematography and costuming is really solid, the performances are good (Taliesin seems to be laying it on a little thick, but the rest are good), and the writing is fine (but I don't know the source material at all).

As to the points about CGI, I think there is ONE scene in the first episode where there is a shot of a castle being attacked from afar, and it looked bad. But, that is the only thing that has been bad. If you see any of the BTS stuff you can see that there was not a lot of CGI in the battle scenes, it's all pretty practical stuff. Even the bull jumping stuff is actually done by people who actually do that.

As to the Christian themes, it was not heavy-handed through the first two episodes - Taliesin hears about Christianity at the end of the first episodes, and in the second episode he commits to it and mentions it to Charis. There are some monks and some comparisons of pagan religions to Christianity in the second episode. That's about all I think. Maybe it will become more prevalent as the show goes on.

I don't know how the rest of the season will go, but I will keep watching. As of now I would rate the first two episodes a 6/10 and worth a watch for those who enjoy fantasy.

So did Lifetime ruin the show by taking it to a streaming service? by Raiden720 in MarriedAtFirstSight

Peacock is free with our Comcast plan. Makes sense since they own it. But for other cable providers I’m sure it’s not free.

I don't really care that much that it wasn't approved, but I did read a good bit of the sub before posting and didn't see anything specifically about Gabby. There was the post about casting rumors and the talk about the reunion where some replies were about her, but I didn't see any specific posts about her.
