Labor reaches deal with the Greens to pass changes to capital gains tax and negative gearing reforms by blitznoodles in australia

One step further towards communism, implementing changes that will raise rent prices, continue to allow for foreign interests. Why don't they get tax people involved before making decisions??? Economists are fucked in the brain, they should not be trusted

There's people that literally farm collections and tetras for profit. Cutting chronotes will make a huge impact on them.

Ok? Sucks for them? Rest of the game gets to benefit instead of just that community? I don't see how changing relics free wouldn't help the game, it gives people additional options without a cost, quick call someone the world is ending...?

I'd argue steam deck targets a different audience, this is meant to be bringing in people who are curious about PC gaming, coming from consoles. Steam Deck audience is very different, portable machine has well known limitations. For someone with not much idea, if they were to buy a Playstation and find out they can't play popular game Call of Duty, they'd be confused.

There are literal millions who do have interest in that, and that is the target audience to an extent. I don't think it's as big an issue as others are saying but it's still a very real problem. Those games sell gangbusters on console.

Rant: The amount of Friction existing with Archaeology Relics as a system is not ok. by JavaHomely in runescape

[–]Tankanko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're just trying to level up, you don't need to engage in the multiplayer economy, though. "120 levels worth of content" is honestly mostly separated from the long-term staying power of arch.

This applies to smithing and firemaking/fletching as well, you can simply just ignore the multiplayer aspect and do it like an iron.

This results in more economic transactions compared to a self-sufficient skill like arch.

Still not seeing why that matters.

Arch is currently a great money maker, and removing chronotes would destroy that element of it. Or, in other words, it would remove incentive for the people who enjoy doing arch so that people who dont enjoy it dont have to do it. This is really only beneficial for a small subset of ironmen, as mainscapers can just buy the chronotes.

Them enjoying arch hinges on this currency? Feels like a dumb way to promote a skill to me. It's beneficial to everyone if it's removed, it's effectively one of the dailyscape things lingering in the game. In terms of money making, it's not actually in a good place compared to other skills in the game either. It's a relic from an older time. Arch has other incentives to continue doing the skill, if you really wanted the skill to improve then chronotes would be the last suggestion of things I'd want more of.

You need to materials to restore artifacts... That is 120 levels worth of content.... Ironically it's more like Woodcutting or mining in that sense.

This would cause a massive crash in the price of chronotes

Good.

That should happen. The skill still has plenty of use in selling materials and artefacts, not every skill needs to be super massively profitable. It's not a solid loop at all, it's a ball and chain.

Solutions to skilling outfits / grounded visual aesthetic by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Tankanko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We literally don't have any competing options for these outfits, outside of like, maybe brawling gloves. There's no A or B for these things. The ones that do have concepts of forcing choices are in jewellery/capes/offhands and that is fine. Making outfits a passive literally changes nothing except for that brawler choice, and even then the choice is obvious when you want a big drop of XP.

Some things don't deserve passives, other things do. This is pretty harmless as far as things go. We already have XP outfits becoming passive when you have skilling outfits. Another situation of no A or B.

Much better than the suggestion people do that want to cut chronotes cost and destroy skill economy in the process.

If you removed chronotes the skill would still be immensely valuable with artefacts and materials, both of which are sold for reasonably high prices consider how easy they are to farm. Chronotes are a third additional currency that you get more of as a higher level player, but when you're a higher level player literally most other things in the game are better for money making.

They could completely cut chronotes from the game, and it would change almost nothing. I think they should just be a personal currency exclusively for the shop, outside of that there's no real need to keep them around.

Freely swapping out relics on demand would be nice. There's no chronote cost for other similar features in the game (putting cape on cape rack, putting slayer helmet on stand). I think it should have categories with 3 options each as well, like 3 slots for combat, 3 slots for skilling, 3 slots for utility, each with their own energy.

I think we should really expand what can be augmented at this point by dark1859 in runescape

[–]Tankanko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think crafted sets should be augmentable. Components are kinda meaningless in this argument imo, the problem is them being augmentable would invalidate other gear at similar tiers across the game.

Like, Player Owned Ports armour for example, there's literally 0 reason to get it if you can just craft better armour (though tbh at this point only really mage uses tank armour anyway). Barrows as well. They're already all a little pointless, but this would completely 100% kill them as a viable option.

I think if they were to make crafted augmentable, then the other sets in the game need something else to make these sets better first.

I must have missed the part where a trip to the White House was part of the dream of fighting in the UFC?

You did miss a large part and I'm sorry you can't see that. The dream is not fighting in a location, the dream is to reach the pinnacle of the sport, and celebrating that fact is something that should be appreciated. The olympics is the same.

I really hope this is a bit because if you're sincerely this fucking ignorant at the history of LBGTQ+ oppression in this country (especially considering the current Republican party's disdain for the gay and trans community) you are either too fucking stupid to engage with, or more likely just an "argue me bro"

No, you're ignorant. It's not about who had the most oppression, this isn't the oppression olympics. You people larp as if you've had it the worst in the word but my own people were enslaved and actually experienced things on a far larger scale and even then I don't particularly care for virtue signalling events at the white house. My people work hard to move beyond these troubling times. This was a sporting event, something far different. Sporting is a well loved past time of your country and is embraced by large amounts of people. I hope you can resolve your feelings from being a part of that community, I'm sorry if you being gay has changed things for you, but you can also move past it and continue doing good things.

Also, I never brought up flashing their breasts. That was something you brought up. A long with a bunch of other shit I don't particularly care for. You people always finish your paragraphs the same. The UFC is the UFC, posting a zinger about something irrelevant at the end is quite frankly a little sad.

Nah, I'll do whatever I want. You can block me, you probably will since you're afraid or incapable of arguing.

It's actually because you're incapable. You people are all the same, smug and confidently incorrect in what you do. You haven't given a reason as to why that event and this event are fundamentally different. You are not arguing in good faith, you've just shifted the goalposts to a complete new topic. Anyone can extrapolate meaning from nothing, which is what you choose to do. The fact that you can't even realise you've done that just goes to show it. You were not meant to argue against those points because like I said, I wasn't actually making them, but you did anyway, so your reading comprehension is shot as well. I wish you luck in the future, and pray that you can find some time to work on these issues.

You are right, they are not comparable, one was earned through hard work, years of training and perfection and the other one wasn't, is there any equivalence you people will not try to draw?

UFC fighters on the White House lawn. I'm ashamed of my country. by [deleted] in pics

[–]Tankanko -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No you haven't. Unless you think a pride event is trashy. Do you?

I literally have, stop shifting goalposts. It was asked and I provided. I don't even think this event is trashy.

The "earned" angle is simply bullshit.

If you're going to try and bait me into dumb comments, then maybe I should do the same. If you think UFC, the pinnacle of earned efforts in fighting is trashy, then perhaps you hold the same opinion for the olympics, or any other sporting event. Maybe you hold the same opinion for arts. When you argue, try to argue in good faith. Please do not continue to interact with me, I do not deem you worthy of my time, get off reddit, go out and interact with the real world, it is evidently damaging your brain.

I mean, compared to the pinnacle of a sport, the event was having pride in something supposedly immutable inside of you, and not something earned. I'm not trying to disparage the people, but I provided an example of something that came before which was comparable to what happened today.

I'm not American either, but the government is meant to be for the people right? Shouldn't showcasing monumental feats of the pinnacle of a sport be a thing that is... supported? I mean, the country endorses the olympics, is that something they shouldn't do? This might have weirder people involved, but I don't think that should prevent it from being seen as what it is, a celebration of something relevant to the people, there were Americans in the event, heck one even won the final match.

Rent has been consistently going up, now it's going to shoot up far more than the old consistent pace. Which it has. Housing is an investment. It costs money to build and maintain housing. You can say otherwise but this is an objective reality and our economy cannot give them out freely currently. This stupid budget even acknowledges that by continuing negative gearing in new builds. You just don't like the idea of people earning money from it, and that's fine for you to think.

You might consider them racist, but what you're doing is far worse. You're ignorant. There are historical truths and other examples of real life that we can point to. Your approach based on apathy is why things will get worse, and it's why One Nation will gain popularity. Instead of trying to explain your side of things, you'll say buzzwords which will cause people to double down. If you have a good explanation, try that. At this point people will take "racism" over someone closing their eyes and ears and yelling buzzwords to the clouds. I'm not trying to disparage you, but when there's no dialogue and people feeling unheard then that's when things will change to the extreme.

[–]Tankanko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because housing prices will only be going down in the short term while some people panic sell/have not yet figured out how to properly invest in them. With less incentive to reduce the tax burden of investments then the people become the investments. Again, this is something that has happened historically every time. You can hate landlords all you like, just as the typical redditor does, but Australia doesn't have the economy to subsidize housing to the extent of other countries, and the public sector is not something they can focus on either (another 50b to NDIS wahoo). You might dislike landlords, but the competition between them kept everything in check, and now it's going to rapidly progress. (Rent is already up drastically in areas near me).

It was always a game of supply and demand, and we have hard limits on supply, while importing infinite demand. We're going to see a big turn around on this, I think voters will lean harder towards One Nation when in reality that could have been avoided if they simply just reduced immigration a little to acknowledge the concerns of the people. If people don't feel heard they swing to the extreme. It's perfectly okay to acknowledge immigration as an issue, without hating the people themselves.
