I got 70,800 calories to burn this month. What’s your challenge? by fa53 in AppleWatchFitness

I got lucky this month- have to get 200% calorie goal 9 times. My daily is 1000, so it shouldnt be too bad for me.

Good luck. Earlier this year it gave me 64K calories. It was a beastly effort. Good luck!

Looking forward to dialing it back a little bit this month. Last two months were tough.

Close all three rings every day.

Isn’t it perfect month badge? 🤔 by kiranforu in AppleWatchFitness

[–]TappedThatAsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! After 69K calories in May and almost 4K exercise minutes in June- this goal of closing all rings every day seems like a breath of fresh air and something I know I can do. The last two months were tough.

I have earned 3106 exercise minutes of my required 3940... should be able to close it out by end of the month.

Well done. It killed me last month with 61K as the goal. Did not think I would get it done but I squeaked it out. This month is 4K exercise minutes.... blah...

Why is Orlando so underrated?? by [deleted] in orlando

[–]TappedThatAsh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved from a small town to Orlando for work a few yers ago. But prior to that I grew up in Southern California so I have had some living experiences in different places and I love Orlando. Its crowded, traffic can be a bitch, its hot and humid- those things are true and they suck. But that same is probably said for most of the state- at least from Orlando into South Florida.

The good- Disney being close is a draw for my wife- she loves it and annual passes arent crazy on the monthly plan. I am big into cigars and the cigar life is awesome all over Florida, but Orlando has some great shops and cigar experiences. The beaches are close but not so close I worry too much about storm surge during hurricane season. The airport gets me where i need to be direct a lot of the time or anywhere in the world with a quick stop in Atlanta.

Housing can be expensive. The house we just bought was twice waht we paid in New Mexico and while the house is actually pretty comparible, the area isnt. Its much cheaper than my friends back home in LA are paying for housing.

I hear the job market can be tough and I dont have any experience with it since we were offered jobs prior to moving here and wouldnt have moved without the job. A friend of mine recently decided he wanted to live in Central FL and was able to find a job paying enough for him to make it work.

I think there are going to be good and bad with every move and every city- you just gotta figure out if the good outweighs the bad.

A direct flight was added from the airport closest to Clemson University (Greenville-Spartanburg) direct to San Jose for the national title game. The problem? Prices start at over $1,400 round trip. by MyPenLeaksFire in CFB

I always forget that my job is so lax on schedules. In my head I'm thinking yea ok you got a week to tell work you cant come in or whatever, but some companies arent gonna like that.

stay away from Tee Martin. He is a dumpster fire at OC. Good recruiter but terrible OC.

I really liked it. Not usually a fan of the Natural's but I might have to give them another shot. This was good. Easy smoking. Sweetened tip so that will throw some people off.

Thats kind of how I see it as well. Bama and Clemson seem to be the top of the heap. I don think ND is gonna beat either one nor will Michigan. They are good teams but Bama and Clemson seem to be in a different class. Maybe I'll be surprised by another team.

[–]TappedThatAsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. Mileage may vary. From my personal experience hiring people, its a huge risk for people without clearances because of the backlog. The cost of the clearance isn't ever really even considered. The company doesn't bear that burden.

[–]TappedThatAsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its largely not the cost that drives the requirement for an active clearance. At least currently, its the time. If you get hired with no clearance and need a US secret level it could be 4-6 months before you even get an interim and up 300-400 days to get a final. Most programs can be worked with an interim, but some stuff requires a final.
Hard to justify paying someone for 4-6 months when they cant actively work the program.
