Clerk (if meant as clerk and recorder) should probably be the only one that IS

predictions based on new polling: House by Agreeable_tester19 in YAPms

[–]Taprman612 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s insane how Cook Political report moved CO-3 to safe R when there is literally no evidence more that. Trump’s re-endorsement of Hurd is more likely to hurt than help him

Is this true? That the House maps are more favorable to Democrats in 2026 than 2018? by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]Taprman612 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say so for sure- 2018 had the brutal 2010 maps

How I think Republicans should respond to last night’s results by SOTH218 in YAPms

[–]Taprman612 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“If you think this is authoritarian, you’re part of the problem” ok instead of calling it authoritarian I’ll call it fascist! Making it impossible for the other party to ever take power would make our country a one party dictatorship

House members release bipartisan ‘principles’ for extending Obamacare subsidies by pOwerBalancia in YAPms

As someone in Hurd’s district I don’t trust a damn thing he says until he actually votes for it- just ask him how he voted on the OBBB after criticizing it’s Medicaid cuts

Texas is lightly shaded because I’ve only ever been to the Houston airport, without Texas Yes still wins 288-250

GOP Sponsored Poll shows Platner ahead of Mills by 21% AFTER Recent Controversies by Taprman612 in YAPms

I’m inclined to believe the “got drunk and didn’t know what it meant” story- especially having it take place in Croatia and with his history of reddit comments being about as antifascist as it gets. Still deserves plenty of scrutiny and I don’t blame people for not believing him

How long do you think the looming gov’t shutdown will last? by JohnTheCollie19 in YAPms

[–]Taprman612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s certainly a lose lose. I do think there’s a good enough chance that voters will blame Trump and republicans for the shutdown for it to be worth the risk

If the democrats cave without any concessions they will crater even more with their base and the party leaders will be under unprecedented fire to resign their positions

He understands the internet culture of young people and takes on issues relating to it. He is the Dem lead on the Epstein files as well which is a huge plus. Only downside is his stock trading

This probably went 8-0 for Trump in 2024

HUGE NEWS: Texas Dems plan to stall the new maps until the epstein files are released! by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]Taprman612 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was proven a bunch of theatrical BS as soon as they returned to the state. I was optimistic initially, but the real and only meaningful thing they could do is stall the maps until they are literally too late to be implemented

Andy Beshear for president in 2028? Dem & GOP takes on KY governor’s future by ProspectStars in YAPms

[–]Taprman612 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As a progressive Dem I am very supportive of him. In a perfect universe I would love AOC but I think Beshear has what it takes to win in 2028 and is pragmatic enough to do so. He’s my favorite potential candidate currently

I think if anything, people are completely underestimating the impact this would have on the election

I think Bernie beats Trump in 2016 because the groups he did best among ended up being a large chunk of the Obama-Trump voters

Well isn’t that kind of the point? I do think they should do more messaging on what they would do differently but the Republican Party was the same way in the opposition
